I played Slay the Princess first and thought that was the best completely visual novel game I'd played. I can already tell after this single chapter that Scarlet Hollow is better. They are very distinct games and the stories are not comparable, but you get to customize your character in this game, including pronouns and background (you get to pick to abilities that change the story somewhat). The story also seems to be different depending on which character(s) you build up rapport with.

As a side note, thank you from a trans person for the pronoun option, and the addition of they/them!
