So this game was a lot of fun at first, and then quickly became impossible to me, as someone who has dyscalculia (think dyslexia, but with maths). I couldn't figure out the punnet systems at all. I couldn't tell what was truly recessive or dominant in the traits. I still can't work out how to breed bees or combine traits in a way that actually allows me to progress at all (something as simple as getting a common bee with a nocturnal trait has taken me - no joke - about 7 hours of mental agony and reading five separate guides and I still can't figure it out).

So I have thousands and thousands of gold from Apicola. I've bought most of the major equipment that you can only get from shopkeepers and I still have...ten bees. I've managed to breed a whole three new bees. That's it. Yes, I know some require special conditions. I still can't figure it out.

I'm some people find this game easy, and might stare at my review in confusion. All I can say is that this game is not at all accessible from the standpoint of my dyscalculia. Everything is explained in meagre hints, and some things are never properly explained at all.

This game was initially fun, and then became so confusing and baffling I ended up just repetitively plugging bees into things and staring at nothing because I knew nothing good would happen and I'd never be able to tell when and why certain traits were changing.

Y'all I literally have an autosomal dominant incurable genetic cancer condition and have had a genetic specialist explain to me - in punnet squares no less - why active tumorigenesis skips a generation when the father inherits the genetic disorder from his mother to explain why I and my grandmother had these tumours and my father never did despite being a carrier of a dominant genetic disorder, and I *still* don't understand this game.

I am eternally grateful, at least, for the person who wrote the Beekeeping guide that says that the punnet squares are essentially broken and incorrect anyway, and that whatever bee is beneath the bee on top essentially doesn't matter, and that a bee can have a ton of recessive qualities that you never ever ever see without eternally placing them in swarmers.

It made me realise I don't have the patience for this game. I hope one day it somehow becomes clearer or at least more accessible for folks like myself. Until then, this goes in the 'too inaccessible to play, enjoyed until I hated it more than anything I've hated in a long time.' Felt like maths homework from a cruel teacher who just didn't want you to win, I guess.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

i like the idea of the game but the core game play loop is terrible spending 90% of my time waiting or repeating an action over and over is terrible.

also there are alot of qol changes that should be made off the top of my head here are some of the things that should be added or changed:

- there should be a way to quickly extract honey combs instead of having to manually goto and quick transfer

- bee hives dont seem to accelerate (or act wierdly) when on a bench as i see it has 60s left so i go on a bench wait an hour and now it only has 50s left which matches to the real time i waited not the in game clock

- there should be a way to quick transfer your items into an inventory if an inventory has the matching items

i love cosy games, this game should be right up my ally but it just has so many small things that need fixing not even going into the core game play loop.
