Last mission glitch/game breaking bug
So I am on the last mission (*spoilers*) where Kate died and I'm chasing Pegorino. I'm at the part where I jump from the motorcycle to the helicopter Jacob and Roman are piloting and I have to pull myself into it, but I can't due to a glitch.

Everytime I mash the "jump" key (which I've remapped to try a different key with no success) it just flutters between two different angles of the same thing: me dangling from the helicopter. Niko doesn't actually pull himself up and then Pegorino gets away and I fail the mission (I've done this about 7 times).

Anyone have the same issue or know how to fix this so I can just complete the game.

I had that problem too, it seems that this problem occurs on PCs with fast CPUs. And I solved it like this:

- Play to the point before you have to jump
- Hit "Escape" to pause the game and open up the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del
- Switch to "Processes" and search for "GTAIV.exe"
- Right click it and choose "Set Affinity"
- Uncheck all cores except of one, press "Ok"
- Switch back to the game

Now the game is a little bit laggy, but Niko should climb up properly. If he's in the helicopter you have to undo the steps, except you want to play with lags ;D

Hope this works for you!

Another fix is to record at 30 fps with fraps while trying to climb into the helicopter. Then it's really easy to climb.

Ya I just bought a new Alienware 17 so it's pretty fast. Unfortunately I can't get the control+alt+delete thing to work since when I am in game it will not let me access the task manager. I can preview it but the game screen always stays in front no matter if I click on the task manager or not.

As for as the other fix goes I do not have fraps on my pc and I'd rather not install it.

Try Windows Key + D, Windows Key + Escape or Alt + Tab to switch to the Desktop first and then open up the Task Manager..

I max out the graphics on mine and it worked for me even though it was laggy.

I just got to this part in the game, installed fraps and limited frame rate to 30 and I was finally able to climb up the helicopter, only to die seconds later and have to restart the entire mission again... being that the game is five years old, I guess R* have decided that they aren't going to fix this bug on the PC version... such a shame, as it completely ruined an otherwise awesome game.

Thanks for the FRAPS solution, worked perfect and i already had it installed :)
Going in and changing the 'affinity' worked for me. Disappointing that there is a bug at the CLIMAX of the game!:steamsad:

Thank you, so much! I was pretty pissed off, when I was doing it over and over without any progress...
