Controller Support Issues - Bug or Feature?

I have a wired 360 controller and the support seems to be working aside from the fact that the left analog stick puts Cole in some sort of auto run feature so that he keeps moving after i've released the stick and the only way to make him stop is with the right trigger. Should this be happening or am I just a lucky bugger here?
