Alan Wake additional content
Hey guys! I haven't played Alan Wake for a while and recently came across a few videos on YouTube that show some new content (not American NIghtmare!). Plus, there are some achievements that say "Special". I guess they are related to the additional content. How do I get it? I have the standard retail version from Europe. Cheers!

Sounds like you're talking about the DLCs (downloadable content). I don't know if you have the Xbox 360 version or PC. With the Xbox, there should be an option 'Downloadable Content' in the main menu when you first load the game (and press Start). Should be right between 'Episodes' and 'Options'. If not, you may have to connect it to the internet and let it update your game. There are probably other ways to get it, but that's how I installed the two DLCs on my console.

Hi, thanks for the reply! I have the PC version and the reason why I called it "additional" is because this content is not listed under DLC on Steam. I only have the option to buy the Collector's Edition contents with dev commentary and stuff like that, but no additional missions. I researched the stuff and a few websites say that these Special levels are included with every copy of the game and were available from the beginning without the need to purchase them (on PC). So I have no idea where I can get them.

If you are talking about the Xbox DLC, those are already included in the PC version.
That is why it isn't listed as DLC.

I haven't gotten very far into the game but I've heard the new episodes aren't playable until you beat the main game, though I could be wrong.
Apparently they are story related so should be played in order, or something.

that's exactly the same I've read. If you wait 2 weeks, I've perhaps finished the main game and I can tell it to you exactly ;)

Try selecting "episodes" from the main menu, then select a difficulty level, and check out the last two items on the list. I'm seeing "Special 1: The Signal" and "Special 2: The Writer".

Well, I guess I just have to finish the game and see what happens! Thanks, guys!

The Specials are amazing. The plot is way different than the normal storyline. The occurences are very surreal and quite quer. I heavily encourage you to play them. Your mind will be blown.

Sincerely,
Jukka P.
