This is something that always bothered me about the game. You're running around for the most part carrying a torch but the nights are brighter than Skyrim. Then I found this mod which imo gives the game a lot more depth at night instead of eveything having a kind of grey wash over it that makes it look flatter.

Some people on the thread linked claim it's too dark but for people who have actually been outside at night. This is closer to what it looks like. I think it may depend on your setup though in terms of how dark it is. I play on an led telly so even though it's darker I can still see. The woods look spookier (reminds me of the X-Files at some points), the mist looks like it has more volume and the torch feels more relevant.

The only links I seen for this was over on the Remedy forums and the other Steam forums linked above so thought I'd share here because it has increased my enjoyment of the game quite a bit.
