No, you must go deeper into dark waters to understand it! xD
Kidding. But not really, it can be understood, actually. Do you want me something to explain? :Light:

I understood it fine.. granted it's not the most straightforward story but you should get an idea of what is happening by the second episode.

XxMakeOutHillxX - Definitely worth playing if you like interesting stories. And it's just beautifully done.

this game is great, the story is amazing. It's intentionally left open ended for the gamer to decide whats happening, what is and isn't real..

Lots of people don't like it because they want everything spoon fed to them without having to use their noodle at all.

Every time i play Alan Wake i leave the game in a good mood. Scenery, actor voices (both original and localized), storyline, atmosphere, all this well fitting music ingame or between the chapters (even if exactly this is the copyright killer). Like a dream with ease. One of the best composed games i have ever played.

All is right, all is good. Made for mature player i think.

A demonic existence captured the writer's wife to be slave, to free her the writer has to sacrifice himself in her place instead. What more did you not understand about this train-wreck of a story?

Thomas Zane beloved Barbara Jaeger died in a diving accident. Thomas Zane tried to wrote the dead beloved back to live using (abusing) the mystical energy of cauldron lake.

He was able to resurrect Barbara Jaegers body but this body was filled with a dark presence from another dimension (cauldron lake again). The original Barbara Jaeger, her soul, was dead.
After Zane was able to understand what he had done he tried to kill this dark presence with new writings. All this stuff came true and he invented Alan Wake as his alter ego to eliminate Barbara Jaeger, the now old woman in black, his widow. Alan Wake became real (using the same abilities that Thomas Zane had) and his (or Thomas Zane´s story) started.

Thomas Zane is stranded and lost beyond recall in the same dimension Alan wake tried to leave (first story). In American Nightmare Alan Wake was able to enter reality again to life. But in fact Alan Wake is not real, even in this world. He is Thomas Zane`s "magical" protagonist.

This is more or less the main story - it´s like a shell game. I know much worse mystic/horror stories seen in movies, TV and games :d_ghost:

It's not really proved - I personally think Zane, like, summoned Alan to Bright Falls. But I love your whole explanation so far. :Light:
