Battleye Global Ban (What to do if you did not cheat)
Every game I have played with battleye people get banned, and say they did not do it. I use to fall in with the masses and say "ya right" "the solution is to not cheat" etc etc etc... Then a little over a week ago I was banned from ARMA 3 for nothing. I was like fine w/e BE will fix this and in the mean time I will play DayZ or ARMA 2... wrong wrong and wrong again. BE does not investigate reports that some one did not cheat.... and I can guess why. The massive number of emails they get saying they did not do something is probably crazy.

I have contacted BI about this, and after days of discussing it with them they were no help. So I found myself with a few choices I could start a new STEAM account and buy all the games back then be the sucker when I get banned again, I could never play a game with BE again as well as never play a BI game again, or I could get involved in trying to fix the issue.

Money on buying the games is not a problem, but I refuse to pay for the games a second time when I did nothing wrong. So I spent a little money and talked to a lawyer whom I know well. This is what you do to be apart of the solution.

DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU INFACT DID CHEAT.

First contact BI at marketing@bistudio.com this is also their public relations email address. Tell them the situation, and that you are frustrated with it. (Keep it professional) Tell them the actions you are going to take against them.

File a report on econsumer.gov (this is the international place to report what you would report to the Better Business Bureau if the company was North American Based.

File a report on www.ripoffreport.com (This will not only let other people see the problem, but the community is full of people that like to get involved and fix issues like this.

After you are done doing that contact STEAM and let them know what is going on. Tell them that you are going to dispute the transaction for ARMA 3 because you did not get what you paid for. Explain to them the problem is with BI and BE not helping solve your issue of being banned for no reason. (Again keep everything you post related to any of this professional. I understand if your upset, but you need to calm down before you do anything. Being unprofessional just gives people a reason to look past you.)

Once you contact steam get in contact with your bank or credit card company and dispute the transaction under the condition that the product was diffrent/altered once you purchassed it. If they give you a place to file a report explain the situation if not wait for them to call you. Explain that you bought the game to play online, and because of BE making a mistake and global banning you for no reason, you are unable to do that. Make sure to include that BE and BI are both not cooperating and explain that you are frustrated with the situation and just want it fixed.



Please do not post here if you are going to be negative about this. Every BE related thread has a lot of people just making the issue worse with a (You shouldnt have cheated attitude.) This is not for you, this is for the people that have been done wrong. And a legal solution to that wrong doing. One that will hopefully in time get BI to oversee a fix.

#4f1fb4‏ question though as you are the first real person to look into this. BI support said that BI does not have the ability to look into this or do anything what so ever about it how is that possible considering 1.) BI owns "all rights" to the game and 2.) It says you were for BI not BE and you are able to look into this.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this matter, this is the most help I have recived on this issue since it happened.

??? guilty doing what? I don't even download ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mods for arma let alone cheats.

the sooner you realize the BE uses delayed bans, detects ""undetected"" cheats and uses crossgames banning the less questions you would need ask ...

also in relation to your threats ... you can still play on servers w/o BE ...

I understand how BE works, I have never used any kind of cheat not the day I was banned not a month before I was banned. Not on Arma 2 DayZ Arma 3 or any game.

The threats are not a threat they are facts. In America this falls under false advertisement. You can not sell a product (or in this case multiple products) and then block out the main reason for buying the product for no reason. You can say what you want, but we will find out Tomorrow for sure if I am right. If I am a lot of people will follow suit, and then from now on when BI releases a game that I want to play I will just get a friend or someone to teach me how to download it for free so I can play on serers w/o BE as you say.

That my credit card has launched their investigation on a valid complaint. They have refunded the $64.99 that I paid for the game.

So, your credit card company has issued a full refund yet you still have access to the single player content and some multiplayer (you can still host games and play on servers without BE)?

This does not strike me as a fair outcome, regardless of how inconvenienced you feel. In fact, I would almost go as far to say this is quite fraudulent. I hope your lawyer is aware of this and has advised you accordingly.

You can not sell a product and then ban some one from 90% of the servers just to force them to rebuy your game multiple times. I consider that fraud personally. I just hope more players that were banned unfairly get their money back. I wish I had enough money to take this to court, I don't even care about the money. I just want to see a fix, but it untill it happens I will just post negative reviews on every BI related product, and tell people who are treated unfairly to report it.

You are missing the point I feel.

You have had your refund. What bothers me is the method by which you have achieved this and as a result, still have access to the game. You can take this to court but be advised, your position is compromised while this title is still in your steam library.

Did you also tell your credit card company you have played the game for 120 hours?

You can try to take some sort of moral high ground all you like but right now, you look like the criminal to me.

I did explain that to them, the point is the customer support was non-existant. I might have access to the game itself, but the reason I paid for the game was to play online. BI took this ability away from me, which made the game pointless. Everyone involved is fully aware of the situation. They have videos from other players showing a purchase and ban from the game with in a few hours of owning it. They have screenshots of the ban id on my account, as well as a video explaining I can play single player as well as on non-battleye servers ... which is less then 10% of online servers. There is no moral high ground here. I see your point very well, but why should I get stuck paying for a product that does not do what I paid for (To Play Online).

As for taking it to court, in order to file I would have to find a lawyer willing to travel, as well as be willing to travel myself. I would not be able to afford such a claim. Also when the CC giving me my money back (A 100% refund) there is no way I could take this to court anyway. It would take some one else that has not gotten their money back to do it. I am well advised on the subject at hand. The best thing I can do at this point is warn anyone/everyone against this product. See what is sad is I had an easier time talking to my credit card company and getting them to support me on this, then going to BE or BI and get the situation resloved to begin with. Where I am from Customer Support actually supports the customer. Businesses do their best to keep a credible name with the BBB as well as with their consumers. This is the first claim I have ever filed with my bank/credit card. Being a 15+ year member and not once asking for my money back on a product carrys some weight with it.

ironically i know what you got banned for ...
hence it makes your creditibility problematic ...

also i see no reason why would customer support spend more time on issue of valid ban

You would be smart to tell steam to remove arma 3 from your account staight away without delay...otherwise if you wait for them to find out on their own you will have the hard job convincing them to not ban your account over fraud.

They can ban my account I don't care at this point only games I have on it is arma 2 and arma 3 neither of them are worth playing at this point. STEAM can do what they want I am not going out of my way to remove a game, when I already went out of my way to resolve an issue that shouldnt have happened to begin with. Also if anyone wants to play the game with out using the BE enabled servers, there is a whole community of gamers using hamachi and downloading it off file share sites. To me thats all way to much work, but I am glad at least some people fight back against this bs some how.

@Dwarden I got banned for nothing because I did nothing. Also creditbility for what I am not recomending anyone do anything illegal. You can report anone to any of the sites mentioned. In my country you can dispute any charge on a credit card as well. If you are wrong you will get a "Sorry we can not help you". Either way I did not care about 65$ its not about that. The reason I reported it is I have a deep hope that others report it and get their money back as well. BI needs to fix this problem, I hope if enough people get their money back it will cause them to fix it. If not then oh well.
