Missions changing out of system?
Hey! :)
I recently started playing spaz and so far it's pretty good. I now found a system where the civs sell some pretty good stuff - Problem is they hate my guts :D I wanted to increase my rep by doing missions for them, but all of them increase my relations with the other guys. Knowing that missions change after some jumps, I went to other systems doing some stuff and then returned a little later. However, the missions appear to be the same. So my question is: Do they change only when I make jumps within the system? I suppose I could just jump to a planet without missions a few times until they're replaced, but that sounds kinda stupid. Or maybe I'M stupid and there is a "wait"-button I missed that skips your "turn"...?

Oh, and another thing: The game already seems a bit grindy, even though I'm only a few hours in - Is this getting better or worse in mid- to lategame? Wouldn't mind too much since for me, spaz is something I play for half an hour every now and then to shoot things :) Would be good to know though.

SPAZ is all about teh grind, man. I don't know the answer to your main question, exactly, but I do know that.

go to the planet with the civ base, rush to the space station and bribe them to increase their friendlyness towards you.

You have a few options. As you surmised, you can jump around in a system to cycle missions you don't want to take. Also, jumping to a mission and then immediately retreating can reset that location as well.

You can also rush a base to improve it's relations. Select your fastest ship, and then as soon as you jump in, put all your other ships on passive/move them away from the station via tactics screen. Then dock with the station and use goons to improve your relations as normal. I believe this might not work if your relation is at the very lowest point, HATE. You must be ENEMY or better to do this.

Your last option is to obliterate the opposing faction's base. This will immediately improve your relations with the other side as well as resetting the destroyed faction's power in that system to 0. It can also be repeated to improve faction relations further.

This is ordered by difficulty, by the way.

Ok :) Usually hate that, but in this one it isn't such a big deal I guess

1. option: So jumping around in other systems doesn't count? It's not really a problem, but it does seem a little strange
2. option: Huh, didn't even know they would let you dock. Thanks, that's quite useful to know. Kinda funny when you think about it though: They're like "Kill the bastard! He's worse than Hitler!" and then after docking "Oh hey, pal! Long time no see. Here, have a cookie" ^_^
3. option: Well, right know I suppose it's doubtful at best that my crappy little ships can take on a station :) Good to know for later in the game though, but couldn't I just destroy the base that sells the items I want or do they blow up with the station? And if they do, are they gone for good or do they just rebuild the station and sell them there again?
I'd just go to another star unless you really need the upgrade. When you feel beefy enough, blow up the station hoarding your upgrades :)

They will be floating around in the debris of the former station. I do this quite often for low level systems once you get tough. Costs less Rez :spazwinky:
