game does not save!! WTF ?

i played bastion for about 2 hours, had the second crystal in the bastion and went off to the oriental path. then i had to leave, went to the puase menu and did not find a save game option, ok. went to leave the game and it said my story won't be saved until the begining of the area (oriental path), well no prob for me. went to main menu and quit the game.

now i started it again and did not see an option to continue the game, only start story, and there the option to start normal oder beginner mode with a new game,

i tried pressing normal mode and the game started all again from the beginning ?!

why is that? in the options the profile selected is the first and names profile 1, i selected it again, but it did not change anything.

looks like the game does not really save or did i miss save points in the game or anything ?!

The game autosaves whenever you see the spinning logo on the screen; there is no manual save option. As for what happened to your save, see if the solutions in this thread help: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2069505
It worked when this happened to me once.

alright, yes.. i started the .exe from the file explorer because i copied the x360ce files, next time i started it from within steam.

started it again from the file explorer, worked.

why do the game engineers at steam create a different save path than the original game..

Any suggestions for solving the problem on a Mac? I've referenced the linked article and found the 107100 folder, but have no idea where to copy it.
