This game won't reconize my controller. Any ideas to fix it?

I have a log tech 360 wire controller. It works with all the other games on steam (Allan Wake, Star Trek, Mars: War Logs, FEZ, etc) without issue, but Bastion says it there is no "gamepad connected." Is there something like a patch or mod to fix this? Or a reason it isn't seeing my controller? Oh, and the reason I don't use a regular 360 controller is because I have major issues with them on the PC.
