Bastion

Completely irrelevant. . .
I'm only partway into the game and loving it, but for some reason, there are certain aspects of Bastion that remind me of the tv show Firefly. I think a part of it is the Kid's use of "ain't" and the innocence that comes across in his character, which reminds me of Kaylee. Just wondering if anyone else who's a fan of both saw any similarities.

Yes. The music is related in some ways, since both draw on western musical styles (Bastion's composer calls his musical style "acoustic frontier trip-hop," while Firefly's music of course supplies some of the western part of "sci-fi western"). The post-apocalyptic setting has also made the entire world a frontier of sorts, and the game, especially the middle section, mixes a western feel with its fantasy, with cactus-like Stabweeds and Pincushions, areas with names like "The Wild Outskirts," and weapons like the Dueling Pistols.
