Symptoms: when I use the vanilla launcher (i.e. not SKSE), it shows 'Left hand rings' as being unsubscribed, and set not to load, (What??) If I launch the game anyway (nb: through SKSE launcher), left hand rings is still loaded and working..... very odd.
Anyway, I think I've sorted this out by doing the following:
1. Delete .bsa and .esp files for this mod
2. Unsubscrube
3. Re-subscribe
4. Launch using vanilla launcher
5. Let it cycle through the modlist and re-download Left hand rings
6. Check that it's showing as subscribed and set to load in the Data Files option. Check.
7. Close poopy vanilla launcher and launch via SKSE
8. Great success..... now go figure out which other mod is causing my CTD :<
This also seems to have sorted out 'Run for your lives' mod, though it doesn't look like either of these mods are actually causing my CTD. Hope this helps people out anyway. Cheers.
Update: I think it was SkyUI. For some reason, the original was removed from the workshop. A new one is up, but can't say I like it as the author hasn't bothered to give any explanation about what's happened or why.
Solution: Delete everything to do with SkyUI & manually install from the Nexus instead.
And did you check whether your installation of SkyUI was behaving normally, too?
Find your steam folder then navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Data
I am not 100% sure as I'm no pr0, but I think the only files related to this particular mod are called LeftHandRings.bsa and LeftHandRings.esp
Delete those two files. Then alt-tab to Steam and unsubscribe from this mod. Then re-subscribe. Steam downloads will probably ♥♥♥♥ about a bit, and then you should launch skyrim and wait for the mod thingy in the launch window to finish doing its thangy. Click play & give it a go.
Unlikely, but if you happen to F it up somehow and break anything, it's not my responsibility. I'm not the mod author, I'm just giving some amateur-ish advice :>
