Asset Request for other Mod
Hi Blackfyre & LastLeviathan,

I was hoping that, with your permission, I could use specific assets from your mod featured in mine. I am making a mod detailing 50 odd of Science Fictions beloved races pre-scripted. I have made a proof of concept version, Sci Fi Prescripted Races (one of my first mods I have ever made), which received a lot of interest, but not a lot of subscriptions for the amount of interest shown (not that I am chasing subs). I suspect, due to feedback, a fair number of people were turned off by the high mod dependency. Taking that feedback on board I thought I could further my knowledge and skill set by trying to streamline my project.

The assets in question would be primarily gfx and limited to specific requirements for each race and not a carte blanche selection, additionally I would do my own coding, not just a cut and paste (I need to learn). I am doing this mostly for myself, but there is a small selection of really enthusiastic people waiting for an improved version(fingers crossed I can deliver), hence my request. I would grant credit and thanks on the main page, and encouragement to check out your mod, along with creating a discussion detailing the mods used in aid of the construction of the mod.

Kind Regards,
ContactWithTheEnemy.

Hi ContactWithTheEnemy, sorry for not noticing your request earlier! The new discussions tab here on Steam is one I haven't really discovered yet. In any case, with regards to your question: I have no specific objections, but I do think it's important to be careful. It would be a shame if you used various rooms from this mod and subscribers to both mods would then see duplicate rooms in their race creators. That kind of thing is usually very off-putting. Also, I feel dependencies are always going to be somewhat necessary with a game like Stellaris and the size of its modding community. The key will be to limit yourself a bit and to not let comments / demands for more or fewer dependencies get to you. Good luck with your mod and be sure to link it here once it's released: I'm certainly interested!

Fantastic thank you Blackfyre, I am new to modding so I really appreciate your advice, which is sensible. I think it was ambitious of me to think I could remove mod dependency altogther, I need to be practical instead of trying to please everyone. Thank you again, and I love your mod, thank you for making it.
