Repala fraying stuffed?

It was a while ago now, but something was changed with the frayed portion of the syandana, now that part is no longer partially transparent, making it far harder to colour than before.
I thought it was just a bug and would get fixed but it's been a long ass while now.

OP, was this a change on purpose?
