Okay while I cannot consider specifics at the moment what I would suggest is unique tech trees that are based off of each of the different races you fight in destiny: the fallen; cabal; hive and Vex. I am not sure on the specifics but your race can follow one of these paths. Like the fallen having a tech tree which is focused around scavenging, anomly reserch and a hierarchy culture, maybe limiting it to collectivists. While somthing like the cabal tech tree buffs units and moral which is for millitraists. While the Vex get tech upgrade and ethic divergence drops. And the Hive get bonuses to their build times (as they set up hives quickly) ethic divergences, and even unlocking the power of the darkness in a more direct sense.

Maybe each of these tech trees could end in a very powerful bonus: like getting o build the huge temple ship in the hive tech tree?

Perhaps you could add some way for the Traveler to be...more of a bad guy, as I for one accept the theories that the big ball is less of a friend than it advertises y'know?

Like it could be a "From a certain point of view" thing, like these Golden Ages could backfire, like they did for The Fallen.

Here's my small suggestion or opinion - i played Destiny and honestly it's hard to judge Destini's setting space-warfare capabilities cause all what we see in game is point of view from single "trooper" or soldier. Whole Stellaris is quite massive and galaxy scaling. I am proposing to make mod not quite "1 to 1" copy from Destiny stuff and settings, but something based on Destiny's lore maybe with some stuff added by own imagination. Kind of "fan-made adaptation of Destiny" for Stellaris.

@PBG, I love this idea. I think instead of technology, it would work better as 4 tradition trees when 1.5 is released.

@Hellriser623, This will probably happen with the Light Vs Darkness system I'm planning. It probably won't be just a choice between one or the other, but different degrees of each side. So you can choose to side with the light a bit, or become like a crusader for the light. Same with the darkness. There will also be options to remain neutral but be distrusting or antagonize either of the two side. Golden ages will probably cause the darkness to react in some way towards your empire.

@Fallen Dragon, no need to worry :) This isn't intended to copy 1 to 1 from Destiny. Even the way the traveler works in the mod right now is a bit different from the game itself. For example, The Traveler in the game terraformed every planet and moon in a star system, but for balance it only terraforms 1 per system in the mod.

Hmm...interesting, because in The Fallen lore there history ends at something called the Maelstrom, where their empire collapsed, The Traveler was there, the Darkness was not...so the only explanation is...something went horribly wrong...

It's actually not clear whether the darkness was there or not. But since the Traveler was there, it follows that the darkness showed up and probably played a hand in their collapse even if indirectly. Also it was called the Whirlwind :P

Well...it's a known fact The Traveler was there...but it's not known if The Darkness actually shown up, The Darkness didn't follow The Traveler when it encountered the Hive, ironically The Travelers interference created Oryx and the greater Hive.

Also thx for the correction, that's one of the things where I forget the name :p

There is some pretty strong evidence that the hive was present during the whirlwind. All of the King's Fall raid weapons are named after characters that were killed by the hive, and the scout rifle's text reads "Where is the Great Machine? Where is the Great Machine?" - Chelchis, Kell of Stone. That's a Fallen Kell implied to be calling out to the Traveler for help, since the Traveler left shortly before the Whirlwind. If the hive were there, then that means the Darkness was playing a part.

Hmm...that's very interesting...Kings Fall is something I haven't been into yet...something I wanted to...but my chance came and went.

Still...The Traveler threw The Fallen under the bus, so to speak...plus with the whole "Army of The Chosen Dead" theory...I never can trust that big ball fully...

My suggestion is this. add in the races shown in destiny, vex, cabal, fallen, hive, taken, etc. and have them move to the travvelers system after a specified amount of time if they choose the light. also add it in so that these races are playable forces.

figure it belongs in here:
Maybe add something into the travelers logic: if attacked but not outright killed, will enter attackers systems and start terraforming planets into random other types. yes, inhabited as well. do not complain, you attacked the god machine and made it angry. Just accept that your home world is suddenly not fit to live on anymore for your species :P

That or it's like "No, I won't hang out with you now, these guys are cool" then it gives you the cold shoulder forever and woo's another empire into kicking your ass (Just like the video game lol)

maybe add some way to "summon" traveler? Or maybe way for super-duper-advanced-high-end-techine-super empires to create own traveler?

I feel it would be good to put the portraits in for the different races, and if you have extra time maybe the ships as well.
