ok. so i have managed to get skyUI "working" with Skyrim VR

i extracted the BSA file in a version of skyUI for Skyrim special edition and installed everything including the extracted BSA content to the Skyrim VR data folder. acording to several sources this should work (though with risk of bugs and crashes)

sure enough the mod "works" the UI from the mod works and can be navigated without issue. the MCM however has a $ in front of it and appears entirely blank despite any mods i install. on top of this i am unable to save my game while SkyUI is active. if i do attempt to save it will seem to work at first however next time i open the menu it will be stuck with the text "Saving content. please don't turn off your console" this seems to be an infinite loop or something along those lines since it never actually gets done "saving my content"

i have been searching for ways to solve these issues for quite a while now and have tried quite a few suggested solution from threads from people with similar issues. these include:

reinstalling all mods.

reinstalling the game.

starting a new save game.

using different versions of SkyUI.

changing the load order.

using different mod managers.

i also attempted to use the command " SetStage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1" to make skyUI load the scripts. this however simply resulted in the text:

Item 'SKI_ConfigManagerInstance' not found for parameter Quest.

Compiled script not saved!

needless to say it did not solve my issue.

i seem quite able to install mods that do not require skyUI but skyUI is simply required for most of the things that i want to install.
