Cave farms not being planted?

So my stocks say I have seeds for the cave crops, one each. I dug out an area, flooded it for mud, set the "underground farm" area, put the priority to 1.. and my farmers are totally ignoring them for priority 2-3 tasks. Anyone else encounter this?

The seeds are there for technical reasons.
You need spores made in the kitchen instead.
