Tiredness Discussion
This thread is old and is based on a long forgotten/removed feature of the mod. Expect things to be inaccurate or nonexistant.

So awhile ago I made a wip "mechanic" involving mob's sanity going down overtime and their sanity affects their stats. I never did make a thread for it so here it is.

TO TEST THE MECHANIC DO THE FOLLOWING
  1. Go to the Playable Pet's configurations settings.
  2. Enable "Nightmare Hound".
  3. Set "Should mobs have sanity" to "Yes".
  4. Start up the server.
  5. Play as nightmare hound for awhile.

Tiredness is your sanity meter, the lower the sanity meter. The bigger penalty you get.
Here is a list of general tiredness stuff:
  • Sleeping is the best way to regain your sanity.
  • The HP you restore while sleeping scales with your sanity meter. If your sanity gets too low, you won't restore any hp for awhile.
  • Your speed will get reduced if you let your sanity get down below half, and it will continue slowing until you restore your sanity.
  • Your attack damage will also get reduced if you let your sanity get below half.
  • If your sanity gets near empty, you will start losing health. At this point, all your stats are as low as can be.

    This Tiredness thing is subject to change and might get its own status bar later. I would appreciate any feedback concerning this thing so I can make it fun and challenging for people who love the mod.

The purpose of this thread not to test to see if it was working, but if to get feedback to fine tune the sleep mechanic.

hmm... just adds a wait time, basically. It's a cycle of "hunt. go crazy. Sleep. repeat" it just stalls. Not super great, IMo. Could wokr better iwth other players in a base, though.

One of the strongest aspect of mobs is being able to walk around and see in the dark, at least in a coop setting. This helps limit them so that you don't get too far in the game too fast, thats the plan anyways.

Since the rework is going include the last features I want to add into PP there should be no reason to have this thread open. Won't delete it for archival purposes I guess.
