GOOD MODELLING.
Finally, a model that actually looks something like one of the animatronics!

I myself tried modelling these characters, in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duXlO6Ct6cQ

Now I am already working on better ones, because the models in that video were based off of teasers/trailers before game release.

As for THESE models... Daaayum. I don't think I could ever model like this.

Smokethebears models were popular because they were the only ones on the workshop.

But this... I admire this. I admire you. You definitely put time into your models...

Bravo, good man. Bravo.

This wasn't made by the guy that posted this, it's just a GMod port. The original was made by EmilMacko, which can be found here.

It is pretty easy, especially with 1.0.0

You want to build rigs, which are composed of models.

There are 2 ways to do it.

Build the model in minecraft, but put all the parts you want in the rig very seperate from eachother. Then, use mine-imator 1.0.0, go to the spawn menu, select import scenery(or a chunk of blocks, if you may)Select the scenery in your object list, (1)select import from world, and a popup will open. Select the world you made the model in, and use the box draggers with the x-z and y screens to select the dimensions of the model.(This is why making the parts seperated is easier, so you don't need to worry about copying over into other models)Click import, and your model is now in the program. You can resize the model to your liking. This option is only available with Mine-Imator 1.0.0, but it is faster than the option below.

(2)Download MC Edit, drag the selection tool around your models, and export them to a schematic file. The difference is it is made for the BETA Mine-imators. It is significantly more difficult and takes longer. But you are moving freely around in MC Edit(3-D) opposed to 2-D model selection.(Top to Side)

Putting the model together to make a rig:

Models are game objects, and you can combine them in a series of 'parents' and 'children' to make a rig. To make an object a child/parent, select the object using the timeline, and at the top right you should see some check boxes and a parenting option.

Re-naming objects is more organized. What my rig looks like in 3 processes in the timeline tab:

Step 1:

Scenery #1
Scenery #2
Scenery #3
Scenery #4

Step 2:

Head
Jaw
Eye_L
Eye_R

Step 3:

Head
Jaw
Eye_L
Eye_R

In this, the Head is a parent of 3 children, Jaw, and the 2 eye sceneries.

Other notes/comments:

I hope this wasn't too difficult. It's a twisted process. :steamhappy:

My models size in mineimator is a little bigger than the average steve ragdoll. Why does it look so good? Because in minecraft, the models are the size of skyscrapers; What I am trying to say here is, if you want to model with minecraft and make a detailed one, you need to make a big building of the model, and resize it in Mine-Imator to a smaller version to your liking.

If your rotation points are out of place, or off of the joints you want them to be, there is a check box at the top right of the selected object that should say,"Custom rotation point". If you check that, then you can fiddle with the x/y/z of the rotation point, say, changing the center of rotation from the center to the top.

If you have anymore questions reguarding this, just comment.

Also, [FCN] is a group name. XLCREEPER is my username. :steamhappy:

Is that Minecraft? If you want good models, use Maya or Blender,NOT MINECRAFT! Minecraft will not help you make models.

They will turn out blocky and 100% inaccurate.

It really depends on the details. In Mine-Imator, my models are gigantic in minecraft, where as in the animation program they are resized to steve size.

It all matters on how large you create a model and how skillful you are at finding details.

Minecraft will always have blocky results.
