JOIN THE ANTI-PAY TO USE MODDING COMMUNITY AND MAKE YOUR VOICE KNOWN!!
We as a modding community have always provided free content for the community and helped one another in prolonging a games life while bringing interesting and fun content. Charging for mods will not only shorten the life span of a game but kill the modding community as a whole! Other companies will capitalize on this and wage a war with the nexus to prevent users from keeping mods on the nexus free! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/antipaymodding join the group now and sign the petition to have valve keep the workshop completely free! Share this link around on new posts, and repost this post and get as many to join the group and sign the petition as you can and make your voice known so that valve knows we won't stand for this injustice!! Now before people say "THEY SHOULD BE PAYED FOR THEIR WORK" Need I mention that this is going to be the death of other modding communities! Other companies will capitalize on this and make it as hard as they can for people to upload free mods to the nexus! Not only that people saying an optional price are liars. There's a minimum charge that the author can in fact set! Not only that people will ge tired of paying for mods! Once people get tired of paying for mods guess what is gonna happen? The mod authors will stop developing mods!! And not only that authors are removing posts that speak out against paying for mods!!! That is not only censorship but just plain wrong!

It killed me on the inside when i realised you had to pay for certain mods now
Blorath Apr 24, 2015 @ 7:31pm
I would be fine with having a donate option. If a mod was really good and clearly had a lot of effort put into it, I might donate. But it is ridiculous that you should have to pay for just a weapon or an armour set.
Astro Bloom Apr 24, 2015 @ 8:00pm
I agree with you, mods shouldn't be paid for just amour set or something small at lest put it to the side by what i mean by "put it to the side" means that you should let the person have a picking to donate the person with OUT the mods included with it just let all mods be free and give the player to donate whatever resonabel money he or she wants on that person's profile it's a win win game to me.

I'm in. Snowball's chance in hell I'm paying for a reskinned sword mod. Nor will I be buying any game that charges for mods.

This is something that will grow in the future and we will play our games and not be able to use our favorite mods, i would rather use my hard earned steam points to buy more games instead of of having millions of dlc's which ruins the point of having mods.

Plus half of them will just probably be png images for 2$ and not actual mods.

It's bad enough that Valve is practically a Monopoly (And a DAMN good one at that, we have to admit.) But now they are squeezing our wallets for mods? I can already tell how this will end: 1: Community gets pissed - 2: Valve couldn't give a crap what the community wants. - 3: Valve regrets nothing and continues on it's merry way, gathering more money, and putting up games and such that are as terrible as Air Control. WELCOME TO VALVE, PEOPLE!
