Hi there! Tabletop Simulator was finally on sale, so I got it and am experimenting with it right now. I think it's a great start, but I do have some suggestions. You have the first two listed already, but I have some other things to point out:

-3D Figures
-Translating the Japanese cards
-Make it so it's easier to place dungeon pieces next to the Monster Lord. It's easy to do ahead of him, but the figure blocks it to the right and to the left (to a lesser extent).
-Putting in the last dungeon piece (the one that looks like a staircase) that is currently absent from the game. This is important because it adds more strategy to the game!
-Find higher-quality scans of some of the English cards (Mighty Mage, Magician Dragon, Blast Lizard, and probably others) so that the text is legible.
-Putting stars or some kind of marker on the dungeon pieces (like you can see here: https://s17-us2.ixquick.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=http%3A%2F%2Fhomepage.ntlworld.com%2Fnicholas.povey1%2Fimages%2FD_Dice%2Fpath.jpg&sp=e72ee488d07b47362ae62fe3f076e609) so that people know where to place their monsters when they summon them.
-The scans for the rules could be better; I'm glad they're there, but when you zoom in on them it only shows part of the rulebook. This is somewhat low priority since you can just look up the rules online, but it'd be nice to have higher-quality scans or some kind of alternative text explanation of the rules.

Anyway, that's just my two cents. I've enjoyed messing around with the game. Have a great day!

I'm glad you're enjoying my port of this game.
I currently can't do 3D figures cause I'm not a 3D designer, I'm a programmer and web developper. I thought the same about the last dungeon piece, this dice configuration exists in real life but this piece was never implemented in the game itself, but it could be interesting to have it.
People should know a monster can only be summoned on a center square of the dice configuration, but I will figure out the markers in a possible update. The rules are currently in the best possible quality on Tabletop Simulator (for cards, cause these are cards), there is a way to have a better quality with implementing it in a other form (not cards, boards for exemple), I'll test some solutions.

Yeah, it's cool that you took the time to do this, I have some of the DDM stuff in real life but this makes it easier to play with people. I think the "staircase" dungeon piece adds some versatility to the game (like on the show Yugi summons Dark Magician that way), so it'd be good to have it.

The center of the piece thing is a rule of thumb, but there's no true center on some of these (like the ones here: https://s17-us2.ixquick.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=http%3A%2F%2Fhomepage.ntlworld.com%2Fnicholas.povey1%2Fimages%2FD_Dice%2Fpath.jpg&sp=e72ee488d07b47362ae62fe3f076e609) so I think that could lead to confusion. It doesn't necessarily need to be the star, just some kind of market would do as long as it looks good.

Fortunately, there's only a few cards (at least in the English ones, I didn't look at all the Japanese ones) that were illegible. I might have to make a text version of the game rules if I have the time so that they're more understandable, but I'm not sure when I'd have the time for it.

In my opinion, the staircase dungeon piece and the monster lord blocking dungeon pieces from being placed next to him (which could probably be solved by resizing the Monster Lord, if I had to guess, although I have zero experience with making TTS games) are probably the biggest issues, really.

You are actually missing 2 dice dimension configs, not just the staircase config. In the tabletop game and in geometry, there are a total of 10 ways to unfold the cube.

If you look in the official manual pdf, the other config you're missing is actually pictured on page 5.

Oh, and bless your heart for using the Japanese crest for Magic, instead of the lame English lightning bolt.

Thanks for your support as always! I didn't notice the dice configurations on page 5 but I'll figure it out. Japanese cards need to be translated first.

This is very good. Just need stars on both sides of the dungeon tiles for the monster spawns. Some translation for the Japanese cards would be good. And I think the board is supposed to be 13x19. Other than that, excellent job

@l0rdofwar In fact the board is wrong, I'll work on a new board later.
Monsters have to spawn at the center of each tile, maybe I'll add stars but not on the tile directly cause it will ruin the dungeon's looks. Adding stars on the diagrams seems a better idea for me.
l0rdofwar Jul 7, 2017 @ 12:22pm
Ah, thank you. Yes, stars on the diagrams would work. Maybe use the Game Boy Advance version's spawn points.

I didn't realize that this was still under development and I started making improvements of my own. I started taking it down the route of the anime and the GBA game, where each card has a unique die that corrisponds to it. I made a unique die for every english card you had, including all of the GBA cards (with the exception of Exodia pieces and a few others that i didnt get to.). I also started making custom cards. I just now saw the update that you made where there are custom pawns. I did make cards for some of thses, as well as cards and pawns for some others too. I also made some home-brew items. I would be very interested in combining our updates, if thats something you think you'd want to do. I sent you a friend request. Please message me if you are interested.

*Edit* While making custom cards, I fixed some of the english cards that were hard to read and made new versions of them with all the same abilities and stats of the originals. (blast lizard, gator dragon, twin headed dragon and crocozaurus)

You did a great work on your side and I'm interested. The fact that dice are unique for each monster is only in the GBA game, but we could combine the two so the players will have the choice to use or not the official dices or the GBA-like dices. I'm currently working on the 3D figurines with a close friend, the new cards (from l0rdofwar) are not in the game yet.
I'll add you and l0rdofwar, but I can't guarantee to be free at anytime cause I spend a lot of time with my close friends (IRL and online).

Moreover the mod will always be under development and improved as Dean Dipped in Cheese, the original author, confirmed he "passed the reigns over me" since 2015. The goal is to keep this mod up to date so no need to create a new mod. I'll be glad to include and credit your work on this mod so feel free to help, the subscribers will enjoy it too!

It would be nice to have a panel to choose monsters from, where it would put the figures, cards, dice in appropriate places, instead of having to dig them all up yourself.
Arukādo  [developer] Mar 29, 2020 @ 2:49am
@Seiyria Thanks for this suggestion. You can use the Search function on the decks and cards.
But as you said it would be better to have some sort of panel gathering the card, die and figurine for each monster. I will try to figure out a solution.

To that end, would it be possible to have some kind of list just giving the names of all possible creatures, their level, and their stats. When you mouse over it, it would show you a picture of the card so you can see the abilities, if any. And then when you click on it, it automatically puts the relevant die, figurine and card in relevant zones. I'd be happy to help program this too. I tried doing in as a setup script in lua over the weekend but would've needed to spend more time on it than I had. Decided to first ask since I assume this would be much easier with your expertise.
Arukādo  [developer] Jul 14, 2020 @ 1:23am
Sadly I don't know much about LUA and scripting in TTS. I was a dev some years ago but now I am a technician.
It could be very useful to prevent players from searching monsters in the bags. If someone makes an interesting script I will include it in the mod with credits.
