Even though panels larger than 4*4 probably wouldn't be as applicable in builds I think a companion mod with solar panels going up to 8*8 (or whatever size) would be cool.

I decided to quit at 4x4 because of the idea that they wouldn't be rigid or strong enough, but now that I think of it, with the corridor and floor below, it's not a limiting factor. I'll look into creating them, but a floor texture rework is currently at the top of my to-do list. After those items, I'm looking into adding a visual storage indicator, like the batteries in the reactor, but in a more appropriate implementation. Thank you for the suggestion.

Perhaps you could increase the cost of the larger panels in order to replicate them needing more reinforcements as their size increases?

I wanted to ask this anyways, is it only me that feels these are a bit OP and make a bit too much power? It might just be me cause I usually always run a cable mod

From experience the solar panels aren't very powerful unless you build a decent amount of them (and even then crew speed is a limiting factor), but if you feel that they are OP with a cable mod then you could potentially try balancing them with the cable support mod whilst leaving the original mod's balance unchanged
How about making them had no capacity, but charges every capacitor on the ship wireless,cable mod is already OP anyway,making crews still needs to carry batteries from capacitor will be a interesting side grade,especially for swarmers and swarmer carriers,carrier bay can have solars to charge the swarm ships while still use a normal reactor to function,Also they can be structures that way,so can pass self projectiles like missiles or turrents
