List of Updates and what was modified
UPDATE AS OF 03/24/2023

I have done more testing on a couple play throughs, and hit turn 50 3 times :) I have taken out a few mods below and added new ones in. This is a common problem, but a good one as tweaking my mods seems to be a daily thing.

I took out battlefield text add ons and added a new faction colors mod. I like this mod as it aims to be more like the colors of ROTK. I also added in flag variations. Both mods seem to work fine, my existing play through did not change the flags on the enemy side of the 1 battle i tested but, a new campaign did see both sides with the new flags.

I also tested MTU event add on mod which sees Zhao Yun change appearance at lvl 7. Leave this mod on if you like what it does. Some people have asked weather it is built into TUP + TROM and it is not after testing it out.

UPDATE 03/28/23 - Removed 1.7.1 Bugfix mod from collection as it appears that mod is built into TROM. Removed Battle Lod remover mod. I cant confirm if the mod was at fault but i was having performance issues with my RTX 3090. I also dropped from full 4k high settings to 1440p high and it was smooth as butter.

UPDATE 04/02/23 - Removed TUP FAMILY TREE EVENTS
Family Tree was #2 in the load order in case i want to add it back in. It is being removed for now due to the latest update causing generals to not appear. The update fixes some duplicates but i noticed Ma Dai not in Ma Teng's family tree or spawning. Mod author seems aware that some might not appear like this and could end up fixing

UPDATE 04/04/2023 - Added TUP FAMILY TREE EVENTS
Even though Ma Dai is not spawning, the extra events was much more pleasing upon testing, at least for the player. I tested Cao Cao, Gongsun Zan, and Ma Teng up until turn 10. The factions start out with less generals but seem to pick up a decent number of events that lead to people spawning in OR joining up. The missing generals from turn 1 were seemingly showing up slowly through said events

UPDATE 04/07/2023 - Moved GATHERING CORE OBJECT
Moved the above mod to #1 on the load order since the mod page of Gathering U.I. states core object has to be ahead of U.I to work correctly. Mistake on my part for not seeing that

UPDATE 06/01/2023 - Adding Bugfix 1.7.2 back into the mod list
A mod author and reputable source confirmed after the latest update the TUP/TROM mod works with 1.7.2 bugfix. The duplicate tables were deleted from the TUP/TROM mod, so it does not crash at launch anymore. You can unsub from this mod and subscribe again to see the changes, if it doesn't update automatically for you.

UPDATE 06/01/2023 - Added in Drunken Panda Model Pack & Reskins
This mod looks amazing and seems to work fine with minor testing done. I will need to keep doing some playtests to confirm this is indeed compatible with TROM but everything looks great so far

UPDATE 06/06/2023 - Added in MTU/TUP Unique Models for Unique Characters
per some of the comments on that mod page, it was stated that this mod needs to go above pandas other mods like the model pack and such. It was also stated that it should go above TUP/TROM. I will keep it at the top of the load order but should any problems come up, i can try moving it down to just above where pandas other mods are stored.

UPDATE 06/07/2023 - Removing TUP Family Tree Events
until further notice. The mod author Woodhawk confirmed his TUP + TROM mod has incompatibilities with Family Tree mod. So even though Family Tree mod works and doesnt CTD, it could cause issues and spawn concerns which we do NOT want.

UPDATE 06/25/2023 - Removed Give resilience to uniques mod since this mod edits CEO data and has compatibility issues with other mods like WU, MTU, and overhaul mods.

Added in my mod, Lotus Eater's Fountain Of Life!

UPDATE 12/30/2023 - Removed Liu Hong mechanic mod as the Power & Politics mod should be handling what that mod already does and to prevent crashing/overlapping mods

UPDATE 01/24/24 - Removing population based food consumption as it is a great immersion mod but, i was seeing too little consistency in food production and im still trying to wrap my head around if the food output makes sense. TUP/TROM already has a food corruption system in those mods so, it's less confusing for the game to decide what is being used also.

UPDATE 01/24/24 - Removing Better Diplomacy mod. While this is another mod that i cannot confirm had any issues, my concern is that the tables this mod edits are also tables that were edited in the TUP/TROM mod. To be safe, im removing this mod for now to avoid conflict.

UPDATE 02/06/25 - Removed lower salary mod, added my personal AI satisfaction and salary mod. Removed NGC character U.I. due to the mod being taken down from steam and being almost unusable. This mod was after the panda reskin in the bottom of the load order

Large UPDATE 02/12/25 - Added in many of my own mods including my NEW ROTK [TROM + TUP] collection that is based off of Beans & Woodhawks amazing TROM + TUP mods

Added in no ai diplomatic marriage, no gate pass unless military access, my own lite version of power and politics, slaughter generic generals, and more!

Large UPDATE: 02/20/25 - Removed Gathering Heroes, Removed Ai wont execute characters, removed Lotus Eaters slaughter generic generals

Added in: Lotus Eater's Historical Heroes, No Generics, No Ai execution

My ROTK parts 1-5 also had pretty significant updates. Parts 1,2, and 4 saw historical generals spawn dates be altered. I also tried to make it so they wont die sitting in a recruitment pool. 999 turns need to pass before character perishes.

Edited Budget Allocations tables to get the Ai to prioritize retaining generals. Massively overhauled unit upkeep and recruit cost.

Due to these new costs and how the ai budgets, i HIGHLY recommend you subscribe to either a lower salary mod or my own salary reduction mod

Hey there, I'm very interested to play this collection but it crashed my game upon trying to start a campaign with Liu Bei on 190, I followed the recommendations, even removing the manual installations from the arrow and dust but to no avail, I have a clean install only using your collection, any tips or idea how to fix?

It sounds like you got most of the kinks figured out. Was the load order pretty much identical? Ive had crashing but never on the campaign start, especially with a commonly used faction like Liu Bei.

Im only aware of 1 issue currently that will crash the game and after testing, it appears one unit might be bugged but that should not prevent a campaign from loading. The original TROM + TUP mod is mostly bug free but every now and then you might see an issue. Usually when i see a crash, i perform the same task and everything works fine the 2nd go around but a campaign boot up issue i wouldn't have an excellent remedy for.

1. Check load order
2. Make sure all the mods are turned on in launcher
3. You could try verifying game files but it sounds like you had clean install
4. Any mods added on could cause issues as this collection is large enough already. Trom + TUP alone is MASSIVE!

So I noticed that a lot of historical characters are not appearing at all. For example, when playing Liu Yan in 190, Fa Zheng, Yan Yan, Zhang Song, etc never spawn. I tested this with the search tool. I alsso tried using the original Trom + Tup and your version and have the same issue in both.

Does the mod only spawn characters for the AI? How does it work for the player?

Any ideas?

Played a 134 campaign as Lu Bü and experienced a crash when using the momentum mechanics on a settlement, better stay clear of doing that.

@Kuno I haven't seen a character spawn issue though some have reported issues with spawning in.

Ironically all 3 of those characters are in my faction in my current playthrough so i might not be much help but, theres so much that goes into character spawns that it could be several things.

1. Did the character die in battle, die in the character pool

2. Did the character not spawn in due to unfortunate events (in vanilla game, its known that Dian Wei or Xu Chu would see this if the campaign didnt meet certain criteria ex. Cao Cao being wiped out)

3. Are you using all the same mods as my collection or are there one offs you added or maybe didnt choose? (This is a common theme and to be expected, not everyone will want to use EXACTLY all the mods this collection uses)

4. Scripts - Sandbox has a couple helpful text files that i cant easily put into a mod. I have edited these script files for my own game and maybe utilizing similar scripts could help others using the collection out. One such script i have run is: Once a faction is conquered, all historical characters will either join the conquering faction or be released into character pools. I could share my script and highlight the differences between default SANDBOX settings and my own tweaks as i found it quite easy to change things.

Most scripts you can change are simple inputs like deleting a # or answering yes/no. These scripts are powerful and can impact the game drastically. One such script goes as far as starting Liu Bei out near Jiangling where Liu Biao resides and progresses him towards Shu lands much quicker than default.

I believe the TROM + TUP authors essentially have TROM pack 1 included in part 5 of TROM + TUP. This is my assumption since the tables edited in part 5 looks like the main overhauls of TROM.

That's my best guess. When visiting their page located here:

I found that when they tried to combine TUP with TROM, it was very incompatible and buggy so that's why they made this overhaul which essentially is TROM with TUP added in but, with conversions/edits to make playable and as error free as possible.

Im pretty sure that the reason TROM pack 2 is included and pack 1 is not is because pack 2 can be left alone with no edits, and the group of authors saw no reason it would need to be modified. It appears pack 2 is an events pack so that would be my best answer for you. Hope that helps :)

Hello I was wondering if there is a way to change the portrait of the characters back to the original or just not dynasty warriors looking like. It feels off for me since its mixed with the CA artstyle and dynasty warrior artstyle.

I know there is a mod that lets it work with MTU (Trom is built upon MTU, so it should technically be compatible with TROM), but because its merged with TUP, it wouldn't be compatible?

While none of this would be impossible, combining all factions playable with TROM + TUP would be quite difficult. The answer is not no but rather, im not that advanced at modding unfortunately.

At least not yet. Im getting better with time but it looks like all factions mod adds units. I haven't played the mod but im assuming the faction rosters are different too. It would take a ton of merging and testing to ensure no bugs, overlaps, or errors.

Im still to this day, finding that when the authors of TROM + TUP combined MTU, TUP, and TROM, some tables appear to be overlapped but the mod is so complicated that i do not want to remove/ alter anything in case the table has a parent table it talks with.

Yeah makes sense. I also know that Beans stopped modding, so his version of TROM + TUP isn't updated to the latest version of TROM. Also, I noticed the list has the bug fixes mod even though TROM Already has that integrated?

Also, if I recall, TROM is built upon MTU, so I'm not surprised that its in the files

That is where this mod and any of TROM + TUP gets complicated.

Beans combined a bunch of overhauls into one, and to be honest, i have no idea how Beans did it and made it all work. (Not trying to sound naive when it comes to modding)

The other caveat is, TROM updated their mod in 2025 and it had me worried it would break so many things with my version of TROM + TUP however, TROM is built in, and my ROTK mod list only required pack 2 which i believe is event scripts, not core TROM.

Because of that, TROM part 1 only being updated didn't break anything for Beans or myself on the TROM + TUP modlist.

So in theory, some of TROM that is built in to my mod goes back to 2024. I have made a pretty nice list of tweak so it's not 1:1 TROM built in but i think you get the gist.
