Why do they have pistols?
When I spawn them in, they have the 9mm pistol. Could someone help me fix this?

same issue here but my Zambies have shotguns

go into npc's and put them on default weapon

Go to NPC's options on the Spawn Menu (The same place where you can disable their AI and make them ignore you) and then Weapon Override, from there you click on Default Weapon, and they should go back to normal!
