FAQ
Some common questions/answers to help new players. I will update this semi-frequently.

I can't equip weapons!
You are most likely playing as a 'specialty frame' or 'unorthodox frame'. The vast majority of these do not have arms, but have some other extra body parts or natural weapons to make up for it.

You can get around these limitations using base-game methods such as Helping Hands, the Chord of Algolgot, or the Extra Armatures mutation added by this mod. Note that it isn't cheap, as I think it makes for a more interesting gameplay experience to learn to work around a unique limitation than to not have one to begin with.

Anything under 'standard frames' will be closer to a normal Caves of Qud character. If you're having trouble picking, start as an Android, as their body plan is identical to that of a standard human.

I don't have missile weapon slots!/I can't use the middle hardpoint!
Missile weapon slots for non-humanoid robots are called hardpoints, just like they are in the vanilla game if you control a robot through a ganglionic teleprojector.

The 'middle hardpoint' is equivalent to a thrown weapon, which is why you can equip almost anything in that slot.

Is there a way to upgrade your frame, so you dont take damage using the stat upgrades?

When you level up, your health increases, allowing you to just tank the damage and wait for recovery (or use items if needed).

The stat upgrades being "capped" by damage is a balancing feature. Without it, you would be able to get infinite amounts of stats with no effort at all. In vanilla Qud it's TECHNICALLY possible to do that with Eater's Nectar and a lot of save-scumming, but I wanted to keep robots mostly in-line with the typical player experience.
