I think this addon is really cool, but the plastic cubes kind of make it look goofy.
Too add into the creepy factor, maybe you could add something in utilities that allows you to pick what small/grabbable prop the virus cells could be, as well as their materials.

I think fleshy balls looks a lot better than dancing cubes, but it may impact the addon's performance somehow.
