*** This only applies to the new inheritance mechanic, The option "Every Character" will not apply this. That option allows you to mix and match whoever you like because it will use vanilla genetic mechanics. Like, how intelligent passes on. Any other option that restricts the demigod traits to spawn on specific groups will use this. Like options that end with "___ ___ Only!" in a rule's choices.

Greek and Roman Pantheons are incompatible with each other.

It's a two way street due to coding. Even though Hades may not hate Demeter, Demeter does and so I have to make it a two way street. For coding's sake, they both dislike each other.

The relationships are mirrored across the Pantheons. This is because the Roman variants wouldn't be as flavorful. I know they served to further The Roman Republic. I know Jupiter didn't dislike Juno. They didn't work like that in real life. I know. But, I added it to allow some flavor for both pantheons.

***When I say incompatibilities I mean demigod traits of either god will not pass on if you try to mix two incompatible bloodlines. Whether that's between Zeus and Hera or Jupiter and Juno or Mars and Aphrodite. Neither trait will pass on. There will be no math done. That's all. You can still marry them.

So. Without further ado.


There are many stories you can find online that could give reasons why one Greek god did not like another. There might be one or two that is a stretch and there might be one I missed. I tried my best to look up some drama between the gods. Let me know if I missed any or if you think I should remove one. Either way, below you'll find my reasoning.

1. Aphrodite/Venus - Dislikes
   • Athena - The Trojan War, Paris' choice.
     
   • Hera - The Trojan War, Paris' Choice. Love and desire vs the sanctity of marriage.
     
   • Hephaestus - Paraded by Hephaestus when Aphrodite got caught having an affair with Ares
     
   • Artemis - A boar was sent by Artemis to kill Adonis, one of Aphrodite's lovers.
     
2. Apollo/Phoebus - Dislikes
   • Hermes - Friendly rivalry with his half brother. The Lyre incident. Playful jests.
     
   • Hera - Bastard son of Zeus. The Trojan War.
     
3. Ares/Mars - Dislikes
   • Athena - A clash between wisdom and brute force. The Trojan War. Athena was Zeus' favorite child.
     
   • Zeus - Ares' disliked that his father was the king of the Olympians but didn't act like one. Lack of fatherly love. Zeus' scorn.
     
   • Hephaestus - Paraded by Hephaestus when Ares got caught having an affair with Aphrodite
     
4. Artemis/Diana - Dislikes
   • Aphrodite - Sent a boar to kill Adonis, Aphrodite's lover. Celibacy vs lust and desire. The story of Hippolytus
     
   • Hera - Bastard daughter of Zeus. The Trojan War.
     
5. Athena/Minerva - Dislikes
   • Aphrodite - The Trojan War, Paris' choice.
     
   • Ares - Conflict of domains. Strategy vs brute force. Zeus' favorite. The Trojan War.
     
   • Poseidon - The Patronage of Athens.
     
6. Demeter/Ceres - Dislikes
   • Hades - Abduction of Persephone, Demeter's daughter.
     
   • Zeus - Arranged everything between Hades and Persephone.
     
7. Hades/Pluto - Dislikes
   • Demeter - Abducted Demeter's daughter, Persephone.
     
   • Movies make Hades a villain. But, I didn't add his brothers because he kind of stuck to his own realm. Feedback welcomed :)
     
8. Hephaestus/Vulcan - Dislikes
   • Aphrodite - Her infidelity to their marriage.
     
   • Ares - His affair with Aphrodite.
     
   • Hera - Hera threw Hephaestus off of Olympus. Once built a throne to capture Hera.
     
9. Hera/Juno - Hera's Wrath
   • Aphrodite - The Trojan War, Paris' choice. Sanctity of marriage vs lust and desire. Aphrodite was involved in Zeus' affairs through her son Eros.
     
   • Zeus - Zeus infidelity. A bad husband. Bastard sons and daughters everywhere. Once tried to overthrow Zeus with Poseidon. The Trojan War.
     
   • Artemis - Zeus' bastard daughter. Hatred for the twin's mom, Leto. The Trojan War.
     
   • Apollo - Zeus bastard son. Hatred for the twin's mom, Leto. The Trojan War.
     
   • Hephaestus - Threw Hephaestus off Mount Olympus for his deformity. Imprisoned by Hephaestus in a trapped throne.
     
   • Dionysus - Bastard son of Zeus. Tricked Zeus into killing Dionysus' mom Semele. Cursed Dionysus' Aunt and Uncle into going mad. Tried to get Dionysus killed many times.
     
10. Hermes/Mercury - Dislikes
    • Apollo - The Lyre incident. Sibling Rivalry. Playful jests.
      
11. Hestia/Vesta - Dislikes
    • No incompatibilities.
      
12. Poseidon/Neptune - Dislikes
    • Athena - Patronage of Athens.
      
    • Zeus - Tried to over throw Zeus with Hera once. Forced to build Troy's wall as punishment.
      
13. Dionysus/Bacchus - Dislikes
    • Hera - Bastard son of Zeus. Hera tried to kill him a few times. Hera got his mom killed. Hera drove his aunt and uncle mad.
      
14. Zeus/Jupiter - Dislikes
    • Hera - Zeus cheated on her many times. Had many bastard sons with many different gods and mortals. Not a good husband to Hera.
      
    • Poseidon - Forced Poseidon to build the walls of Troy because he once tried to overthrow Zeus with Hera.
      
    • Demeter - Zeus planned everything between Hades and Persephone.
      
    • Ares - Rebellious son. Favored Athena over Ares. Difference in domains. Zeus wanted order. Ares wanted war. Did not show any fatherly love to Ares. Instead there was only scorn.
      
15. Eris/Discordia - Dislikes
    • No incompatibilities. Maybe being the god of chaos... I could make her incompatible with everyone. Feedback welcomed :)
