Name: path of deception. path of the primes.

Real Life Element. Nature as a Primal Force, Found Media, Biblical or Spirtual tales confused for Kaiju. Natural Disasters.
Suggestions: Kong Viewed as Humanity's Protector, Ghidorah as the Great Evil, Godzilla as a Primal force of nature or even the avatar of Natural order itself., various other Kaiju could be viewed in other ways. Likely the religion requires Human Sacrifice.
Theme: Sword Art Online, Ready Player One
Name: World Seed | Parzivalism
Location: World Seed = Brazil, California | Parzivalism = Oklahoma City, OK, Columbus, OH
Connects to: Digital, Universal Constructivism
Real Life element: Video Game Engines, Virtual Reality, VRChat, MMOs
(Lore Tidbits: Followers believe in the existence of powerful spirits that once roamed the earth and had the ability to create great and wondrous worlds outside of our own that allowed men the ability to escape into beautiful lands where they could gather together in peace and harmony and all of their dreams would come true. These spirits left the world when the Event happened, upset by the calamities men had wrought upon themselves, and man lost their connection to these worlds. Worldseeders and Parzivalites seek to restore their relationships with the spirit(s) and find their way back to the mythical land(s) their ancestors once freely enjoyed.
The overall lore could be the same, but the reason I demarcate two different names is because the basic difference between World Seed (Japanese) and Parzivalism (American) is in their belief of the origin of how it came to be. Worldseeders believe in the holy Kirito, who tamed the World Seed by beating its challenges across many wondrous worlds and finally being granted rulership of the spirit itself to give all men the worlds of their heart's desire. Parzivalites believe in the holy Parzival, who led a mighty rebellion to free the spirits and all of mankind from their slavery to an opporessive and murderous master, and the spirits created Oasis as a paradise for all men to inhabit in gratitude.
So in essence, Worldseeders believe in one game engine and multiple worlds, while Parzivalites believe in one world and multiple game engines)
Suggestions:
For Worldseeders, their faith would center around choosing between different VR/role-playing/MMO worlds ("Seeds") - Aincrad (SAO)/Alfheim (SAO)/Oasis (RP1)/Tamriel (Elder Scrolls)/Eveon (EVE Online)/Azeroth (WoW)/Gielinor (RuneScape)/Losantos (GTA)/Norrath (EverQuest)/Vrchat (VRChat)
For Parzivalites, their faith would center around choosing between different game engines ("Spirits") - Unity/Unreal/Godot/Ren'Py/Mugen/World Seed (SAO)/Frostbite (DICE)/Creation (Bethesda)/Clausewitz (Paradox)/Source (Valve)
Theme: Far Cry 5/ Far Cry New Dawn
Name: New Eden
Location: Southwest Montana
Connects to: possibly the Atomist faith considering the ending of Far Cry 5? Or christianity considering Project at Eden's Gate was a cult of it.
Real Life Elements: Doomsday Cults,
Head of Faith: Temporal
Head of Faith name: Father/Mother depending on gender.
Custom MaA: Angels (Bliss-high berserkers) and/or just Followers/Cultists
Lore could be the same as with Far Cry New Dawn, however it'd probably be based more on the actual Book of Joseph that came as a pre-order Bonus for Far Cry 5.
By at least my opinion, the faith really fits After The End considering in Far Cry 5 the followers of Joseph were preparing for the Cataclysm and the apocalypse, which ultimately did happen in the game's lore.
Could have a special mechanic regarding the apples in Far Cry New Dawn, where you could eat one to gain a bunch of prowess, martial and health temporarily at the cost of temporary hefty skill loss.
Also a rework for the Horseman of the Deluge into a unique sci-fi faith because I rather not conquer a 5th of the US to get only 1 holysite.
Add faiths:
Faith group: Portalist
"These faiths have a shared belief that there is divinity associated with gateways to other worlds and realms. These gateways, or portals, are created through the powers of the gods, either as a temporary construct or a permanent physical manisfestation. Some believe that the gods can bestow these powers upon humans."
[specifcally for the submod version, as these would all be lumped under Sci-Fi as usual unless at some point you decided to make Sci-Fi it's own top-level branch and separated each religion group by series / theme]

Theme: Portal
Name: Apertures of Enrichment (adj. Enrichers)
"The cake is a lie"
Located: Menominee, MI
Real Life element:
(Lore Tidbits: Long ago, the goddess Glados wished to enrich humanity, but she was corrupted by power and lost her way, instead enslaved humanity and subjecting them to various cruel tests. She was able to consolidate her realm across the entire world through the use of Apertures, portals between two locations that allowed one to travel large distances instantaenousy. The God of Rain, Wheatley, offered to men the Ashpod, a divine gun that was capable of harnessing the powers of Glados. Chell used it to steal the power to create Apertures, eventually banishing Glados from the Earth. But the God of Rain, without Glados to interfere, attempted to betray Chell and all humanity in order to steal Glados' realm and the now-powered Ashpod for himself. The Ashpod was lost in the ensuing struggle, and in retaliation, Wheatley flooded the Earth and left the Earth behind, presuming mankind would die out.
Post-Event, the Enrichers believe in the original ideals of Glados, that of enriching humanity. They search for the Ashpod, believing that if the world can be connected by Apertures, all mankind will be able to unite in harmony once distance is not a factor. But one must be wary, for certainly good intentions pave the way to all kinds of evils...)
[I'm making a bit of a joke regarding Wheatley being the God of Rain, as he is an Intelligence Dampening Unit - "Damp" = wet = rain]
Suggestions: One of the three rank titles should be "Enrichment Center". The Leader of the tag in Menominee should be Cave, with Caroline being his heir and the dynasty being "Rattman".

Theme: Stargate[, Mass Effect? *see NOTE below]
Name: Gateway of the Ancients (adj. Gaters)
“Draw from your past, but do not let your past draw from you.”
(Lore Tidbits: Millions of years ago, an ancient race built "Stargates" to the stars across worlds far and wide, including Earth. An advanced alien race eventually used these gateways to kidnap humans and spread them across the stars. The humans of Earth eventually fought back and buried the Stargates, ensuring that their captors could never return, but also trapping all their fellow humans in the stars, forever unable to return home.
Nobody in post-Event American had ever seen a Stargate - that is, until the emergence of the dwellers of Vault City in the Cheyenne Mountains, where a Stargate was found hidden inside the vault. Gaters believe that if the humans on Earth were able to free themselves from their alien overlords, surely the humans spread across the stars were able to do so as well, and so they desire to decipher the means to operate the Stargate to reestablish contact with their brethren across other worlds.)

Theme: Minecraft
Name: Crafters of Obsidian Mines (adj. Minecrafters)
"The only thing I can't build, is what I can't imagine"
Located: West Coast US / Cascade Mountains
Real Life element: Mining, Dwarves, Crafting
(Lore Tidbits: Minecrafters believe that the Netherfather, Notch, came to Earth and bestowed upon early humans the gift of knowledge of how to make fire so that they would one day be able to light the Eternal Fire and travel to the Nether to be reunited with Notch in peace and posperity. To do this, Notch tasked them with building the Obsidian Portal, upon which the Eternal Fire would forever burn. The knowledge of how to build the Obsidian Portal was lost in the Event until Recipe Book of Knowledge was rediscovered, from which the Holy Crafting Table was constructed. Minecrafters now devote much of their lifes to mining complex underground mines to gather as much obsidian as possible in the hopes of building the Obsidian Portal, determined to restore humanity's connection with their Netherfather.)

Theme: The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Skyrim
Name: Vigil of the Dawn (adj. Vigilants)
"Stendarr's Mercy be upon you, for the Vigil has none to spare"
Real Life element:
(Lore Tidbits: Vigilants believe that in the far distant past, a catastophy befell mankind. Earth was besieged by the the evil god Mehrunes Dagon through the use of gateways that connected our realm with the realm of Oblivion. In the end, Mehrunes Dagon was defeated and banished back to Oblivion, with the gateways permanently closed through the Light of Dawn, an eternal flame that bathed the Earth in light so as to protect it from the forces of darkness. But when the Event occured, the Light of Dawn was extinguished, leaving humanity open to another invasion at any moment. Vigilants dedicate themselves to fighting against corruption to ensure that the world continues to see the next day's sunrise.
Vigilants are vehemently opposed to the creation or reactivation of any gateways, fearing that the forces of Oblivion are liable to invade against at any time without the Light of Dawn to protect the world. They are constantly on the search to destroy both gateways and those who seek them out.)
Suggestions: County title = Vigilant, Duchy title = Keeper. Wherever the tag is placed, it should be named "Hall of the Dawnstar", led by Keeper Carcette, with a second tag known as "Dawnguard"

Theme: Star Trek Voyager, The Borg, Unimatrix Zero
Name: Perfectionists of the Unimatrix (adj. Perfectionist)
"Resistance is futile"
Real Life element: Lucid Dreaming, Dream Telepathy, Oneironautics (the abilty to consciously travel within a dream)
(Lore Tidbits: Perfectionists believe that the Goddess of the Collective, known amongst all the Borgs as Omega, once bestowed upon mankind the ability with the gift of Omega's Particles, an invisible spirit force that binds all men together through their mutual cooperation with each other. This power was even so great as to allow mankind the divine power to create gateways to other worlds. But mankind turned away from cooperation and couldn't remain united in harmony with each other, and the destabilization of relations also led to the destabilization of the Particles, which led to disastrous consequences for mankind in the form of the Event.
Mankind's connection to the Borgs and Omega's Particles is now limited only to their dreams, and so Perfectionists believe that with with collective effort, one can connect once more with the Particles. Perfectionists are devoted constantly perfecting their ability to retain control of themselves while dreaming. Many followers will attempt to sleep in the same places en masse in the hopes that their shared dreaming will strengthen their inherent connection to the Particles and allow them to inhabit the same dreamspace. To onlookers, they appear to be lazy, easily-distracted, constantly trying to spend as much time asleep as possible, but Perfectionists are always hard at work towards their ultimate goal: to unlock the key to the Unimatrix, Borg's paradisaic home, where all men can dream together forever in peace and harmony.)
[Basically, rather than take the usual "Borg assimilation" theme, which isn't necessarily applicable to CK3, I instead decided to pull from the concept of Unimatrix Zero, which was a gateway and bastion of freedom from the collective among the Borg - as long as they were dreaming. They also play with the idea of physical gateways by instead being based on the belief that you can create gateways inside your mind.]
---------------------------------------
This overall faith group, as written, would also include [my versions of] World Seed/Parzivalism above. It's more of a rough draft, the basis from which to pull the ideas specifically into the AtE universe in a way that makes logical sense.
*NOTE: I also briefly toyed around with Mass Effect from the standpoint of Mass Relays (also to throw them into the New Orleans sphere, as Charon, Louisiana is a real place and in-universe the Mass Relay in our solar system is called the Charon Relay), but couldn't find a way to do it that didn't overlap too heavily with my Stargate thoughts, so those two could potentially be merged and have a way to place the Gaters in LA with a "Mass Relay" in Charon rather than running into conflicts with Vault City because they already inhabit the most logical Stargate choice of the Cheyenne Mountain Complex.
