Basic Mechanics: Looking around the room, there is a Rudder which will turn the boat, an Engine Order Telegraph to determine how many spaces the boat will move, a Bell which will cause the ship to move as directed, and a coin-shaped button to Grab whatever is under the boat and send it to the chute to the right of the ocean tank.
Hint 1: The treasure map on the wall explains what “Full,” “Half,” and “Slow” mean on the Engine Order Telegraph. “Ahead” will move the ship forward, and “Astern” will move it back… at least at first.
Hint 2: When you move the ship with the Bell, an “X” will appear over the space you just used on the Engine Order Telegraph. Wait, where else have you seen a bell and an “X” together?
Hint 3: The picture on the wall above the desk indicates that if the Bell is rung when an X is present, it will move in the opposite direction than is actually being indicated - an “Ahead” with an X will instead move “Astern,” at which point the X will disappear.
Hint 4: The X’s will also appear different based on which direction the ship was moving: Red indicates right to left, and Blue indicates towards or away from you. Have you seen lines in these directions anywhere else?
Hint 5: The treasure map shows a dotted red line going across, and a dotted blue line going up and down. In other words, moving the boat side to side is indeed West and East, and moving it towards or away from you is North and South. Looking at landmarks on the map - a ship in two pieces in the Southeast quadrant, crates in the Northwest quadrant, and a raft to the West - lets you discern that when looking at the tank, you’re standing at the Southern edge of it.
Tip: To reset the ship location, repeat any directions with an X on the Engine Order Telegraph to reverse them. Clearing these out will essentially undo any moves you made, putting you back at your starting point, which is J-10 on the map.
To Reach the Mark at L-4
-Hint A: From J-10, you’ll need to go two paces South and six paces West.
-Hint B: Going six paces West is pretty straightforward, moving Full Astern and then Slow Astern (5+1=6). But you can’t repeat the same order twice, so how do you go two paces South?
-Solution: You’ll need to go a bit back and forth to move two paces South - Half Ahead and Slow Astern (3-1=2). If you’re in the correct spot, when you Grab, you’ll receive a Note. Proceed to the other map markings in this way.
To Reach the Mark at G-2 Solution: From J-10, move three paces North (Half Astern) and eight paces West (Full Astern and Half Astern).
To Reach the Mark at D-13 Solution: From J-10, move six paces North (Full Astern and Slow Astern) and three paces East (Half Ahead).
At this point, you should have collected all three notes.
Hint 6: The notes are impossible to read, though. If only there were somewhere to lay them out nicely.
Hint 7: There are empty picture frames to the right of the clock, which the notes can be placed in. Still gibberish, though, almost as if they’re not complete.
Hint 8: The frames are not only movable, they’re also transparent to each other.
Note Solution: Moving the frames so that all notes are laid overtop of each other, it reads, “The chest of stolen pirate treasure is buried one pace South and four paces West of the sunken anchor.”
Hint 9: The first step is to find where the anchor is. There’s a small beam of light where your boat is located which should help you see where you are in relation to the floor of the tank. If this is to hard to see, you can Grab to get a better idea of your location.
Hint 10: From J-10, the anchor is located five paces South (Full Ahead) and three paces West (Half Astern), putting it at O-7. But remember, this is only the starting point from the Note.
Hint 11: One pace South and four paces West of the anchor at O-7 puts the treasure at P-3.
Treasure Chest Location Solution: From J-10, move six paces South (Full Ahead and Slow Ahead) and seven paces West (Full Astern, Half Astern, and Slow Ahead).
Now you’ve got the treasure chest! …oh, but it still needs to be opened.
Hint 12: There must be something to indicate the right combination. Wait, does that logo on the top of the chest look familiar?
Hint 13: Take a look in the ocean tank one last time (I promise).
Hint 14: Guide the ship to the crossed swords, which are six paces South (Full Ahead and Slow Ahead) and six paces East (Full Ahead and Slow Ahead) of J-10, and Grab to see what’s hidden there.
Hint 15: You now have the Compass, which doesn’t seem to work like a regular one does, but… what does this button in the top section do?
Hint 16: When you orient the dial to the different directions and press the button, the two windows will open, showing you a letter and a portion of a key. You can use this to work out which key should be displayed where.
North Solution: A key with a heart-shape at its bow (the end of its handle); this is the fancy gold key.
East Solution: A key with a straight-lined bit (the part that goes into the lock) in two portions, starting close together before moving outwards and then towards each other again. This is the red key with the gear shape.
South Solution: A straight-on view of a key that’s mostly flat with two rounded bits, one in the middle and one on the bottom. This is the simple gold key with the circle shape.
West Solution: A key with four segments, with one longer than the others. This is the simple gray key with the circle shape.
With that, you’ve obtained the Big Key and can open the box to the Crystals and- hey wait, that’s not a key lock!
Crystal Box Solution: By examining the key, you can find the combination to the lock - 5712.
5-Crystal Room:
Puzzle A:
Hint 1: There are two posters on the wall with an “A” on them. Is there anything in common between the two?
Hint 2: The poster to the left of the room is a code for you to solve, and the one above the computer desk is the solution.
Hint 3: The first square in the code is the shape next to D, but the next square doesn’t match any one picture.
Hint 4: Look at what two pictures make up the square - in this case, N and S - and look at where those two bubbles intersect: E. Proceed in this way for every picture.
Hint 5: The X is, in fact, just an X, and you can simply copy that over.
Solution A-1:
DEUX
EINS
NINE
SEIS
Solution A-2: Looking at the chalkboard, these translate to 2196. This code can be typed into the keypad of the red cabinet.
Puzzle B:
Hint 1: Collect the four tiles from the red cabinet, and place them on the grid in the middle of the room. This won’t activate anything, and exact placement on the grid doesn’t matter as long as you complete the picture correctly - it’s for your own ease of use.
Hint 2: This provides the key for a code, but there’s nothing else around the room to decode. Or is there? Are there any other 4x4 grid patterns?
Hint 3: The code this time is on the floor. Or rather, it IS the floor - the label that marks it as “B” is in the square of the grid with the P-shaped pipe, in front of where the Crystals are kept.
Hint 4: Pipes make up the big circles (U), diagonals (S), and corner squares (O), with vent covers representing the smaller circles (E). Based on the orientation of the corner squares, the computer desk is in the upper-left portion of the grid.
Hint 5: From here, the puzzle progresses much like Puzzle A, just with more combinations available.
Solution B-1:
NEUN
TRES
SEPT
FOUR
Solution B-2: Looking at the chalkboard, these translate to 9374. This opens the locker closest to the Puzzle A code poster.
Puzzle C:
Hint 1: Collect the two tiles on the top shelf of the locker you just opened. There are more tiles on the bottom shelf, but they won’t be used yet.
Hint 2: To complete this picture, you need seven additional tiles, which are hidden around the room.
Tile Locations Solution:
1 - In the Red Locker Door to the left of the computer.
2 - On the shelf above where the Crystals are kept, leaning against the wall, behind another item.
3 - On the shelf below where the Crystals are kept.
4 - In the box, on the table that’s left of where the Crystals are kept.
5 - On that same table, on the lower shelf, wedged between two other items.
6 - On a shelf in the red cabinet above that table.
7 - Hidden behind the chalkboard with the numbers on it.
Hint 3: Move the Puzzle B tiles, and set the nine Puzzle C tiles on the grid. Again, exact spacing doesn’t matter, it’s for your own reference.
Hint 4: Looking at the picture in the locker, this puzzle is the same idea as before, the shapes are just getting more complicated.
Hint 5: The shapes are the black lines, with every 2x2 area of X’s being one square in the grid.
Hint 6: There is now the possibility to combine three or four shapes instead of just two. The first shape in this grid, for instance, combines shapes A, S, and T, which would equal O.
Tip: Though it looks overwhelming, all lines are unique to only one shape. For instance, if a square has a line from the center to the upper left, then shape A must be a part of it. My recommendation is to just pick one key feature from each shape to look for, rather than trying to break down the whole picture.
Solution C-1:
OCHO
ZERO
VIER
CINQ
Solution C-2: Looking at the chalkboard, these translate to 8045. This opens the remaining locker.
Puzzle D:
Hint 1: Collect the 8 tiles from the locker you just opened, and, if you haven’t already, the 8 from the other locker.
Hint 2: Unlike the other times, placement of the tiles DOES matter this time. Fortunately, there is one space that shows exactly what you need to put there.
Hint 3: Put the “O” tile on the circle marking on the grid. But where to go from here?
Hint 4: There are markings showing how the tiles should connect, but there’s a method beyond just brute-forcing the solution to figure out the path these connections should take.
Hint 5: In the locker you just opened, the picture on the left door shows this path the connected tiles should follow.
Hint 6: To begin, look for the piece that goes under the O - it will have a purple/semicircle mark at the top edge, and another mark on the left edge, since that’s the path we see in the locker drawing.
Hint 7: Only one tile fits this criteria, and it has a red/triangle mark on the left edge.
Hint 8: Proceeding to the left, the next tile should have a red/triangle mark on the right edge to match the tile we just put down, and another mark on the left edge to continue the path. Again, only one tile fits this criteria. Continue in this way to complete the grid.
Tile Layout Solution:
Going row-by-row in the grid, left to right, the markings on the edges should be:
1- right red/triangle only
2 - left red/triangle, bottom blue/rectangle
3 - right purple/semicircle, bottom blue/rectangle
4 - left purple/semicircle, bottom red/triangle
5 - right purple/semicircle, bottom red/triangle
6 - left purple/semicircle, top blue/rectangle
7 - top blue/rectangle, bottom red/triangle
8 - top red/triangle, bottom blue/rectangle
9 - right blue/rectangle, top red/triangle
10 - left blue/rectangle, right purple/semicircle
11 - left purple/semicircle, top red/triangle
12 - “O” block - top blue/rectangle, bottom purple/semicircle
13 - right purple/semicircle only
14 - left purple/semicircle, right blue/rectangle
15 - left blue/rectangle, right red/triangle
16 - left red/triangle, top purple/semicircle
You can now proceed with decoding the puzzle as before.
Hint 9: While the code key on the right door of the locker looks different from what's been used so far, it's the same concept.
Hint 10: Rather than showing a venn diagram, each shape is linked to a colored line. When shapes combine, look for a letter where all the relevant colors are present.
Hint 11: The first square in the grid combines all the shapes, so it would be F, which has yellow, green, red, and purple passing through it.
Hint 12: The second square is a combination of the red and green shapes, making it the letter I.
Solution D-1:
FIVE
HUIT
CERO
ZWEI
Solution D-2: Looking at the chalkboard, these translate to 5802. This can be entered into the padlock where the Crystals are being stored.
Final Puzzle:
Hint 1: You’re looking for a 5-word phrase, and must click those words in the correct order as they pass the upper portion of the dome.
Hint 2: If you attempt this puzzle after obtaining six Crystals, all the cards will have words on them. Every additional Crystal you obtain will turn some unneeded cards blank, and collecting all 15 Crystals will leave you with only the relevant words.
Hint 3: The phrase relates to what you did by completing this game.
Tip: As far as I know, there’s no way to reset this puzzle. If you’ve entered something incorrectly, fill in the rest of the spaces. Once you’ve entered a fifth word, the next word you click will start the phrase over.
