BLACK MAGE SPELL: ULTIMA

Recommended Level: 60
Intended to be done right after you've beaten the game. It may require some additional prep.

Start: Master Black Mage in Sequoia Capitol
You will find her in the house with the blue roof just west of the fountain. She is in the upper floor. You can either access it from the top of the wall or by walking along the rooftops. The door to her room is in the back.

Walkthrough:
Talk to the Master Black Mage to receive the quest. The Ultima tome is in the Sequoia. Outside about halfway up, there is a treacherous set of platforms leading to a small branch containing a blue flower and a red treasure chest. You'll notice a bookshelf embedded in the wall here. Just examine it to do battle against the Black Rabite. Be prepared to survive its Ultima XVI opener and Hell's Gate closer. You'll learn the spell as soon as you defeat it, finally mastering the Black Mage job.

If you've completed the Sequoia climb, you can reach this more easily from the Top of the Sequoia home point. From the home point, jump off the right ledge and hug the tree. You'll be able to land right next to the Ultima tome bookshelf if you do it right.

JOB: GAMBLER

Recommended Level: 45-50
Intended to be done as soon as you complete Land's End.

Start: Lady Luck in Sequoia Capitol
You will find her in the Red Door Inn in the middle of town.

Walkthrough:
Note: I highly recommend obtaining the Callisto Stone first, to make this quest easier.

Talk to Lady Luck and accept her wager. She will tell you the story of Setzer and task you with killing the sky demon "Deathgaze." You'll find its flame floating above Delende near the Dragoon's Tower, but you can only get high enough to reach it by flying off of Callisto Temple with the Owl. It will attempt to run away from you. Catch and defeat Deathgaze, then return to Lady Luck to claim the Gambler job.

SUMMONER SPELL: MEGA FLARE

Recommended Level: 60
Intended to be done right after you've beaten the game. It may require some additional prep.

Start: Eidolon Expert in Tall, Tall Heights
You will find him in the Athenaeum's upper level enclave, accessible by walking into the hole where there is a frozen waterfall. You do not need to have found the missing books to access this room.

Walkthrough:
There's a home point across from the Eidolon Expert; I recommend setting it for this quest.

Talk to the Eidolon Expert to begin the quest. From there, you will need to battle Deathgaze (See: the Gambler quest) with the Thief job set, and steal the Magicite: Bahamut from it. Don't worry if you've defeated Deathgaze already; It respawns. With the Magicite secure, now return to the Eidolon Expert. I recommend saving at this step, because talking to the Eidolon Expert will begin a boss fight with Bahamut. Make sure to beef up, because surviving his Mega Flares is key to defeating him. Take him out and you will unlock Mega Flare for your Summoners.

Note: Deathgaze respawns, so you can fight him again at any point.

SAMURAI: KATANAS & DRAW OUTS

Recommended Level: 30+
They are hidden throughout the game. You can access the first katana as soon as you can access Cragstone Peak.
Note: For those updating on existing saves, the katanas will respawn if you don't have one or if you haven't learned the associated Draw Out. Nothing here is missable.

Kiyomori & Brandish: Kiyomori
Reach the Ninja Yashiki. On the upper floors, in a room with a chest that contains a Crit Fang, you will be ambushed by Mitsurugi. Defeat him to obtain the katana and its associated skill.

Murakumo & Brandish: Murakumo
Near the pyramid in Sara Sara Desert, you will find Hana waiting in an abandoned building. Defeat her to obtain the katana & its associated skill.

Muramasa & Brandish: Muramasa
In Sequoia Capitol, keep up with the bulletin board and eventually you'll find Orchard and Hanmaru guarding the draw bridge to the castle. Defeat them to obtain the katana and its associated skill. If you've already defeated them, you'll find Hanmaru wandering around in front of the draw bridge. Talk to him and he'll challenge you, if you don't have the art or his sword.

Osafune & Brandish: Osafune
On the upper levels of the Castle Ramparts, at the castle's west side, you'll find Masashi waiting. Defeat him for the Osafune and its associated skill.

Masamune & Brandish: Masamune
This is a longer ride than the others. On the west side of Tall, Tall Heights you will find an abandoned cabin that leads to Land's End. Here you will find two boys. Talk to them to learn that they've lost their father's sword on the mountain. Now progress the game until you climb Land's End and defeat the Owlbear--It will drop the Broken Blade. If you have already defeated the owlbear, talk to Cyrisa at the top of Callisto Shrine to receive it instead.

Now return to the boys and they will reveal themselves to be the sword spirits Masa & Mune. Accept their challenge to defeat their combined form. If you do this, they will reform the Masamune and grant it to you.

You can return to them at any point for a rematch. If you've sold or otherwise discarded the Masamune, they'll even give you another.
