Ark Scarab fight - Scarab not destroyable...

Hi there, I'm up to the Scarab battle on The Ark. However, I can't seem to be able to destroy the core on its back. You can damage it to where it flashes red but you can't actually blow it up. Please advise...

The Scarab on the Ark is unique and it actually has 2 cores. The one in the usual location only destroys the main gun on top. You have to go inside the scarab to destroy the other and actually kill the scarab.

I had that issue too. I thought it had something to do with some missed trigger and paused to reset the checkpoint, but my game froze. But yeah, having two cores makes sense.
