i have tried everything i could possibly think of. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, i have disabled and re-enabled every mod, i have deleted BepInEx and verified the game files countless times in between all of that. i am getting desperate as i just want to play the game without my arachnophobia ruining the experience. please help.

it decided to arbitrarily work on the fifth time i disabled and re-enabled the mod. im glad i get to play the game now but man that was really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating, and who knows when it will just decide to stop working again.

i ran into the same issue a few days ago and there seems to not be a concrete fix to it. one time i had to disable and re-enable the mod a few times. another time it opened normally after i just closed and relaunched the game. i'm wondering if it's a fault of other mods, but there's no real way of checking it, since the problem is not consistent in its shwing.

Okay figured out that in my case it was because the Bombadier Vulture mod has a space in its ID which seems to cause problems

I was also facing this issue on Steam Deck, then I realize to make Rain World modding works, we need to add the following as launch arguments:

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" %command%

After that and reload the mods, the issue is gone!

Hope this can help others that are having the same issue on Steam Deck.

I'm sorry to ask but how do we add that in? I'm not any good when it comes to coding so I'm not sure where to put that

Sorry for the late reply. It's not related to code at all. See the official help page:

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/7D01-D2DD-D75E-2955

For the big screen (deck) UI, after selecting the game (Rain World in this case), touch the "Gear" icon to open up a menu, select the "Properties..." menu and under General, you'll be able to find the place to add launch arguments at the bottom of your right-hand side.

(note: my deck UI is not set to English so I'm not sure if the copywriting I provided above is matched)
I'm having the same issues.
