Hints and Solutions
WARNING - the hint list contains spoilers! :)

Puzzle 1:
Reception Area – Wedding Photo Albums

Find the six Wedding Photo Albums that are missing on the two cabinet shelves holding Wedding Photo Albums in the Reception Area, and then place them correctly at their respective spot on the shelves.

The correct numerical order for the placement of the Wedding Photo Albums is visible in the upper mid-section of the Locked Cabinet. Take a closer look.

Solution:

Upper shelve: 14 (3) (7) 11 (2) (9) 1
Lower shelve: 12 (8) (4) 6 (13) (10) 5

Place the Wedding Photo Albums at the correct placement spots.

Puzzle 2:
Reception Area – Wedding Photo Album/Typewriter

Once the Wedding Photo Albums have been placed in the correct numerical order on the shelves, an Old Wedding Photo appears on the spine of each of the six Wedding Photo Albums, and these Wedding Photo Albums can now be pushed. When pushed, the Wedding Photo Albums move and change position on the shelve, disclosing a number on the shelve. At the same time, when a Wedding Photo Album is pushed, the corresponding Frame with an Old Wedding Photo in the Locked Cabinet rotates by 45 degrees.

When the Wedding Photo Albums were placed correctly on the shelves, a Picture Frame with the same Old Wedding Photo appeared from behind the plant and rotated to face the front, indicating that the Old Wedding Photos in the Locked Cabinet have to be rotated so that they also have the “front” to the "audience”.

When all six Old Wedding Photo Frames are facing to the front, you end up with a number for each of the six Wedding Photo Albums on the shelves. These numbers must be decoded using the Hotel Book on the Reception Desk so that you end up with six letters. These letters must now be entered on the Typewriter.

The order of the letters is:

Upper Shelve from left to right + Lower Shelve from left to right.

Don’t forget to include the number printed on the Wedding Photo Album when decoding the number.

Solution:

Album 14 – 321 = 14321 = A
Album 11 – 1 = 111 = G
Album 1 – 21 = 121 = A
Album 12 – 321 = 12321 = T
Album 6 – 21 = 621 = H
Album 5 – 1 = 51 = E

When you have entered the letter combination A-G-A-T-H-E on the Typewriter and you have pressed the “Return” button, the Cabinet below the Old Wall Clock opens. Moreover, a piece of paper with a Written Message comes out of the Typewriter.

Puzzle 3:
Reception Area – Typewriter Message:

The Written Message that came out of the Typewriter is a list of booked hotel room. Use the list to systematically remove all the keys that correspond to booked hotel rooms from the Hotel Key Holder.
Having removed all those keys, a hidden message is unveiled. Maybe you cannot see it just yet. If not, don’t worry. You won’t need it just yet.

Puzzle 4:
Reception Area – Gramophone Playing:

In the Cabinet that opened you’ll find a “Gramophone Button”. When pressed, the Gramophone will start playing. Listen carefully to the tune. Wait, what!? Did you just hear a Secret Code of some sort?

Decode the code so that it only consists of numbers. The question is: Where can you find the corresponding numbers for the three spoken words in the Secret Code?

Once you have decoded the Secret Code, the next question is where the code should be used?
Did you notice the name of the artist/band of the record playing on the Gramophone? This is a hint.

Solution:

The Secret Code you hear when the Gramophone is playing is this:

6 – Charlie – 5 – Foxtrot – 2 – Romeo

6 (is already a number, so no need to decode this)
Charlie = 7 (in the Hotel Guest Book, you’ll find the number 7 on the page about the Charlie Chaplin movie night)
5 (is already a number, so no need to decode this)
Foxtrot = 8 (in the Hotel Guest Book, you’ll find the number 8 on the page about Foxtrot classes)
2 (is already a number, so no need to decode this)
Romeo = 4 (on one of the shelves in the Locked Cabinet with Glass Doors, you’ll find 4 “Romeo and Juliet” books)

So the code you end up with is this:
6 – 7 – 5 – 8 – 2 – 4

Pick up the Telephone and call 675824. Maybe you have to try a couple of times. It’s an old telephone (or maybe you didn’t dial the number correctly the first time).

When the phone call has been established, the Green Box on the Reception Desk opens. It contains Key 00 to the Hotel Manager’s Room. It also contains a Light Switch. When the Light Switch is pressed, the table lamp turns on, and a green light is being spread around the Reception Area. Maybe you can now better see the hidden code when looking at the Hotel Key Holder?

Locate the Hotel Manager’s Room. Can you find it? Maybe you need to search for it on the 1st floor. Walk up the stairs.

Puzzle 5:
Room 00 – Grandfather Clock

Having opened the door to Room 00, you now search the room and notice there is another door that is open. When approaching the open door, it slams shut. Luckily, you find another key on the floor next to the door. Unfortunately, you cannot access the room from this door because it’s the wrong key. Maybe you can access the room from another door using the key you found?

Having opened the room (bedroom) using a different door, you’ll find a mysterious Magnifying Glass under the bed. It looks like a “clock”. In Room 00, is there somewhere you can use the Magnifying Glass?

Take a look around. Doesn’t the table look much like a clock? When looking closer at the table, you notice “Watch Closer” is written on the surface. So maybe, the Magnifying Glass should be used here?

Apply the Magnifying Glass, and see if you can figure out how to use it to obtain the information the tabletop clock holds.

Solution:

Align the Clock Numbers on the Magnifying Glass with the corresponding Roman Numerals on the Tabletop Clock. When correctly aligned, you’ll see a hidden code:

11:45

Adjust the time to 11:45 on the Grandfather Clock using the Grandfather Clock Hands.

When the time has been adjusted correctly, the Grandfather Clock starts ticking, and the door to the Mysterious Room opens.
Moreover, there are now drawings/illustrations in three of the frames on the wall instead of Bride Pictures.

Puzzle 6:
Mysterious Room – Phanekistoscope Discs, part 1

In the Mysterious Room, you’ll find 10 cabinets hanging on the wall.
You’ll also find a Gramophone. Can you somehow play the record on the Gramophone?
Press the button on the Green Dresser.
The Gramophone starts playing, and the 10 cabinets open, unveiling rotating Phanekistoscope Discs. In each cabinet you’ll find a button. Pressing the button makes the Phanekistoscope Disc stop temporarily.
Can you find out how to use the information you get when stopping a Phanekistoscope Disc from rotating?

Maybe the information is still hidden for you. Can you somehow find a way to unveil the hidden information?

Solution:

While the Gramophone is playing, the small Box on the Cabinet below the Old Picture of Bride and Groom is open, and you have access to a handle that you can use to active “the other dimension”.

When the other dimension is activated, the walls become transparent, and you can now look through the walls. And when you, in this mode, press a button in a cabinet the corresponding cabinet in the other dimension opens and unveils a number.

Mysterious Room – Phanekistoscope Discs, part 2

The number you see in the other dimension when pushing a button in a cabinet, is to be combined with the illustration on found the Phanekistoscope Disc in this closet.
Do you recognise some of the illustrations on the Phanekistoscop Discs? Have you seen some of them in the three Picture Frames outside the room?
The corresponding Picture Frames with Bride Pictures in the Bedroom have the letters A – B – C.
The Candles on the brown Tray outside the room also have the letters A – B – C, and there is a circle with numbers from 0-9
Can you combine the number information gained from the cabinets in the Mysterious Room, the three Phanekistoscope Disc illustrations and the letters A – B – C to place the Candles on the correct number on the Tray?

Solution:

Candle A = 3
Candle B = 7
Candle C = 9

Having placed the Candles correctly, they are lit, and the yellow cabinet door in the Mysterious Room opens. Take the Angel Figurine inside it.

Puzzle 7:
Reception Area – Angel Figurines

On the Cabinet below the Old Wall Clock in the Reception Area, you’ll find Angel Figurine no. 1 and four placement spots. Did you find all four Angel Figurines?

No. 2 is placed on the Dresser in Room 00.
No. 3 is placed on the Side Bed Table in the Bedroom.
No. 4 is placed inside the yellow cabinet in the Mysterious Room.

Place the four Angel Figurines on the designated round platforms. Once placed, they light up, and you can now rotate them to correct position.
Can you find a way to find out what the correct position is? Take a look in the Hotel Guest Book and the Picture Frames that now have pictures of Angel Figurines.

Solution:

Position for Angel Figurines from left to right:

Facing Forward – Facing Backward – Facing Right – Facing Left

When the Angel Figurines have been turned to the correct position, the glass piece that covers part of the lock inside the cabinet opens, and you can now enter the code.

The code is visible if you take a look at the Hotel Key Holder behind the Reception Desk. If the green light is on, you see the code more clearly.
When you removed the keys according to the Written Message that came out of the Typewriter, the removed keys formed a pattern – a code:

6 – 8 – 7

Enter the code, and the door to the Hotel Rooms at the ground floor opens.

Puzzle 8:
Hotel Rooms Hallway – Door Control Unit

When entering the Hallway, you’ll find a Floorplan. You also find a ”Door Control Unit” with a lot of handles and indicators. There is a key inside a glass container that you need.

So you have to find out how to operate the Door Control Unit.
Did you find out how?

Otherwise, try pressing the Light Switches to each of the four sections. When pressing these switches, the doors start opening and closing.
Is there a special pattern for this?

The order in which the doors open has to be rendered on the "Door Control Unit" for each of the four sections. Use the Floorplan and the Hotel Room Numbers to determine which handle represents which door.

Solution:

Section 1 (doors 10-16):
10 – 15 – 11 – 14 – 13

Section 2 (doors 20-26):
20 – 21 – 22 – 23 – 24

Section 3 (doors 30-36):
33 – 34 – 32 – 35 – 31

Section 4 (doors 40-46):
41 – 42 – 44 – 40 – 43

When all four sections are unlocked, the glass of the display case splinters, and you can now grab the key to the Restauration/Lounge Area.

Puzzle 9:
Restaurant/Lounge Area – Big Combined Puzzle, part 1

In the Lounge Area in the back of the big room, the TV suddenly turns on, when you are near it. However, there is nothing of interest to the seen on the screen – only static interference. Press the button on the TV to stop the static interference and start the "movie".

This movie shows a sequence consisting of four numbers from 1-4. After each number there is a portrait of a bride and a groom.
It’s the same portraits you’ll find hanging by the two staircases in the room. Under each portrait, you can find the last name of the respective bride and groom.

At the Restaurant Area, you’ll find a list of all reservations. Here, you find the last names of the couples and their bookings.

When looking at the tables, you furthermore notice two Arrow Indicators on each table and numbers on the chairs reminding you of the numbering on a clock: 12 – 3 – 6 – 9.

Solution:

Find out which table each of the couples are seated at and at what time. Do this by looking at the “movie” on the TV, looking at portraits to find out the couples’ names and looking at the reservations list to see what time the couples have booked a table.

Couple 1:
Table = 1; Last Name = Harrison; Time: 11:30

Couple 2:
Table = 2; Last Name = Edwards; Time: 9:20

Couple 3:
Table = 3; Last Name = Brown; Time: 7:45

Couple 4:
Table = 4; Last Name = Williams; Time: 8:10

Now adjust the time using the Arrow Indicators on each table. The Outer Arrow Indicator is the minute hand, the Inner Arrow Indicator is the hour hand.

Once the correct time for a table has been correctly adjusted, the corresponding Old Wall Clock on the wall at the Restaurant Area lights up and starts ticking. Furthermore, the hand moves and stops at one of the mysterious codes. At the same time, you’ll hear a piano note playing.

Restaurant/Lounge Area – Big Combined Puzzle, part 2

When all tables/times are set correctly, a melody starts playing again and again, and a Crow appears on top of the Piano and makes sounds and points at the piano, indicating that you have to play a melody on the piano.

The four Old Wall Clocks that were lit up when setting the tables/times each point at a code. Have you found a piece of paper on the floor that contains these codes?
Find this piece of paper.
The Old Wall Clocks each have a specific colour.
Did you find these colours somewhere else, too?

Solution:

Each code indicated by the Old Wall Clocks is a piano note. On the paper with the 88-key piano keyboard layout, you can see where these specific piano notes are placed on the piano. You can also see the notes when hovering over the piano keys with the mouse.

The colour order indicated with coloured gems on the side of the Angel Statuette in the Cabinet is the correct order for playing the notes.

PURPLE = F6
GREEN = F6#
BLUE = C7#
RED = F6#

When you play the notes, you’ll realize it’s the same melody that is being playing again and again. This melody stops playing, and the Crow disappears when you have played the correct notes in the correct order. Also, the Reception Bell is now appearing on top of the Piano instead of the Crow.

Take the Reception Bell with you, and leave the Restaurant/Lounge Area, and run to the Reception Area Door.

Use the key is the glass display next to the Reception Area Door that you now have access to.

Once you enter the Reception Area, place the Reception Bell on the spot where the Broken Reception Bell was sitting.

And ring the bell ….

A Ghostly Lady will appear on the balcony and make her way down the stairs and walk into a Hidden Room through a portal that is now appearing before your eyes.

Enter this Hidden Room …

Puzzle 10:
Hidden Room –Letters/Pictures/Candles

When entering the Hidden Room, you notice a Switch on the back wall. Press it.

The lights go out, and the Ghostly Woman can now be seen behind the wall. On this wall, you now see the letters of the alphabet. The Ghostly Woman begins to move to different letters, which light up. At the same time, a specific picture on the other wall lights up.
If you press this picture, the candles on the Tray light up, forming a number.

How can you use all this to find out what the correct letter combination is?

Solution:

The numbers you get through the form of the lit-up candles when pressing a picture indicate the order of the letters of the letter combination that can be entered via the lock on the bed.

The letters pointed out by the Ghostly Lady in the correct order indicated by the pictures/candles are:

B – R – I – D – E

When the letter combination is indicated correctly, the light goes out, and you’ll wait for a moment and suddenly find yourself on a cemetery. Where there once was a bed, there now is a gravestone. Move to the back of the room and find the Ghostly Woman. Take the Golden EXIT Key from the Angel Tray. The gate opens, and you can now run through the hallway all the way to the exit. Insert the key, and escape after having set the Ghostly Woman’s soul free.
