Kyle's Review of "Dead Before Dawn Too" - 3/5
Not bad, but why bother? 3/5 stars.

Dead Before Dawn Too is the first L4D2 version of the campaign from 2010, before the director's cut and long before the extended edition. It's a quality experience for the most part, but I can't think of a reason to play this beyond historical curiosity.

DBD Too is largely similar to the original L4D1 version, going through the same five maps in the same order — no extra maps, no replacements. It's cool to have a playable piece of history, but the absence of the numerous improvements from later versions is very noticeable.

Item spawns feel a little thin and the overall balance is off, making this more of a chore than other versions. The low point is when dozens of armored security zombies spawn during the "millionth customer" event, making it almost certain that they'll get through the doors and you'll keep restarting the event over and over until you get lucky.

This is a fine campaign — it's still Dead Before Dawn — but it's a worse version of itself.
