Hints and Solutions
GENERAL TIPS: (spoiler-free)

Tip 1: Grab the "Unstuck Button" in the intro sequence before exiting the circle! While rare, it is possible to get soft-locked. This device will teleport you to safety, albeit a bit violently.

Tip 2: Use the whiteboards! They won't tell you how to do everything, but they will tell you what you need to do for each puzzle.

Tip 3: You will use almost every item you encounter, although most things can't be used right away. If you pick things up, try to remember where you put them!

Tip 4: Unless you are trying to break something, you might want to avoid clicking on interactable items as fast as you can. :) This is an issue with Escape Simulator in general, and not unique to this room.

PUZZLE 1/9: "CONTENT"
Hint 1: You need to turn off the lights...at the start they are already off, but you can't interact with them yet. Maybe there is a puzzle to unlock the lights?
Hint 2: You need to assemble and set up the camera.
Hint 3: Is that a mirror ball on the whiteboard? Huh. Well, there must be some way to lower it?!

Solution:
1A. LIGHTS! Solve the light switch puzzle by observing the sequence of yellow lights, and hitting the light switches in the correct order. Then, turn the room lights back off (note you cannot do this until picking up the key).
Correct order, from left to right: 1, 3, 2, 4

1B. CAMERA! Pick up the three pieces of the camera:
- Camera body: on the dresser in the main room
- Camera lens: on the shelf in the bathroom, above the toilet
- Camera Tripod: in the kitchen next to the refrigerator

Assemble the camera by attaching the camera body to the camera tripod, and attaching the camera lens to the camera body
Place the camera in the correct location at the back of the main room (note the tripod can be placed prior to attaching the camera body and lens)

1C. ACTION! You need to lower the mirror ball, which has three sequential steps:
- Get the mirror ball key from the front light switch drawer, after solving the light switch puzzle
- Unlock the mirror ball control panel in the front of the kitchen, next to the oven
- Pull the lever to raise the ceiling fan in the main room, which also lowers the mirror ball

When Steps 1A-1C are completed, you will have completed Puzzle 1. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 1 is attached to the mirror ball...how appropriate!

Fun Fact: I attempted to recreate the setting from the chorus of "Content" in the original INSIDE video, including the white ghost with headlamp and microphone, which I am referring to as a "Bo-bot." Most puzzles will have you re-create a similar setting from one of the songs in INSIDE.

PUZZLE 2/9: "MAIN THEME"
Hint 1: No prior musical knowledge or sound are needed to solve this puzzle - everything you need to know is on the whiteboard.
Hint 2: Those certainly look like piano keys, and the red arrow appears to be trying to tell you something...maybe these are the correct notes to play on the piano, in this order?
Hint 3: There must be some way to match each note in the center of the board to find out its letter name, and how that translates to notes on the piano keyboard.

Solution:
You need to play the following piano keys, in the correct order: B, C#, D, D#, E, and F. Note there are multiple B's, C#'s, etc. on the keyboard and any will work, as long as they are played in the correct order.
Refer to the image below for they correct keys and order on the piano keyboard: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2818584551
Once you play the correct melody, the drawer opens on the right side of the piano, revealing Puzzle Piece 2. Pick it up to complete Puzzle 2.

Fun Fact: If you have your Music on in the Settings, you may notice the melody you are playing matches part of the melody in the Main Theme. It is an increasing Chromatic scale, except it skips the C natural and goes straight to the C# after the B.

PUZZLE 3/9: "COMEDY"
Hint 1: The whiteboard is showing three objects on the left side. There must be some relationship between them? Maybe take a closer look.
Hint 2: Okay, you think you figured out how to use the objects...but where? Is there a lock with a tag that reminds of something related to the desk items?
Hint 3: Is that a laser box on the whiteboard? Huh. Well, there must be some way to find it and use it?!
Hint 4: Ooh, it looks like there are some things that must be disabled to solve this puzzle. No lights or mirror ball!

Solution:
3A. DESK ITEMS: There are numbers under each item on the desk that you can pick up. You need the numbers under the Yellow pad, Twitter mug, and Notebook, which are 011, 101, and 110.
The whiteboard is telling you to add up these three numbers.
011 + 101 + 110 = 222. Neat.
The lock in the kitchen has a tag on it showing the same numbers from the desk items. Enter the 222 solution here to unlock the cabinet.

3B. LASERS: Hopefully by now you unlocked the laser box. If not, please refer to the solution above for DESK ITEMS.
You may have noticed that a tripod appears in the front of the room at the start of Puzzle 3. Once you pick up the laser box, you should see a yellow ghost on top of the tripod, indicating that is where something goes. It's the laser box! But you knew that already. Moving on.
The symbol with the three lasers and triangle on the whiteboard matches the buttons on the laser box. If you activate all four buttons, the red, green, and blue lasers will turn on, and also animate.

When Steps 3A-3B are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch) and disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), you will have completed Puzzle 3. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 3 is on the back wall of the main room, where the lasers are pointing. How appropriate!

Fun Fact: Your first reaction to the desk items may be this puzzle is related to binary counting...gotcha! I love binary (as much as you can love a numerical base?), but I wouldn't do that here, haha. Good on you for thinking it though!

Another Fun Fact (isn't this fun?): The lasers and laser buttons aren't actually attached to the laser box--they are attached to the tripod--because picking up a laser box with very long lasers attached results in some very odd scaling when you examine the object in Inventory. So you were just carrying around and placing a dummy shell of the laser box. Sorry for tricking you.

PUZZLE 4/9: "FACETIME WITH MY MOM"
Hint 1: It looks like you need to charge the phone? What steps would be required to do that? Is this even a puzzle? Don't overthink it.
Hint 2: You charged the phone! But now what? How many apps are on the phone, and what does each one do?
Hint 3: You may have noticed two new tripods appeared at the start of Puzzle 4. Are those LED lights? Maybe they are connected to the phone somehow?
Hint 4: It looks like you find and use The Blacklist Season 6 Blu-Ray with the phone, somehow.

Solution:
4A. PHONE CHARGING: There are five steps to charging and unlocking the phone:
- Pick up the phone. It was on the desk, unless you moved it.
- Pick up the phone charger. It was in the back of the kitchen, unless you moved it.
- Plug the phone charger into the wall outlet, which is in the back of the kitchen and you can't move it.
- Plug the phone into the phone charger after it is connected to the wall outlet. Wait for the battery symbol to change from red to green, which only takes a few seconds.
- Pick up the charged phone, and hit the red power button to turn it on. You now have a functional phone. Enjoy!

4B. LED LIGHTS: The second app on the phone (going from left to right) has a color wheel icon. This app controls the LED lights.
The whiteboard is telling you to change the room color to blue. You can do this by clicking on the LED app, and then clicking the blue section of the color wheel. If colorblind, note this matches the square symbol from the whiteboard.
When you exit inventory, you will notice the LED lights on tripods now show colored light! But if the room lights are not off, it will be very hard to see...

4C. FACETIME CALL: The first app on the phone (going from left to right) has a FaceTime icon. Amazingly, this app controls the FaceTime call dialer.
To use the FaceTime call dialer, you need a phone number. This is located on the back of The Blacklist Season 6 Blu-Ray, which was in the kitchen cabinet with the laser box unless you moved it.
The sticky note on the Blu-Ray box shows "Call Me! 867-5309 - Mom"
Type that phone number into the FaceTime call dialer screen, and press the green call button. If the correct phone number is entered, you will start a FaceTime call with Mom.
If you hang up on Mom, you may need to call her back again! But you should be able to hit the Back button without hanging up.

When Steps 4A-4C are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch), disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), and disabling the lasers (click the buttons until all three lasers are off), you will have completed Puzzle 4. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 4 is on the side of the refrigerator, where the Bo-bot is staring. How appropriate!
Fun Fact: Due to a Room Editor issue with slots and complex pickables, the unlocked phone that you pick up after charging is actually a different object than the initial phone you start out with. Did you spot the swap? (You didn't lol, but feel free to replay and look for it!)

PUZZLE 5/9: "HOW THE WORLD WORKS"
Hint 1: It looks like you need to change the LED lights to a reddish orange color, which also matches the triangle symbol...you got this!
Hint 2: You may have noticed (I really hope you noticed) a giant spotlight appearing next to the whiteboard at the start of Puzzle 5. If only there was some way to turn it on, but the button seems to be blocked...
Hint 3: There is also a tag on the spotlight next to its lock...is that a sock? Is a sock actually a hint? What sort of escape room is this, anyway? Have you seen a sock lying around anywhere?

Solution:
5A. LED LIGHTS: The second app on the phone (going from left to right) has a color wheel icon. This app controls the LED lights. But you learned this in Puzzle 4, so I'm not sure why I'm telling you again.
The whiteboard is telling you to change the room color to reddish orange. You can do this by clicking on the LED app, and then clicking the reddish orange section of the color wheel. If colorblind, note this matches the triangle symbol from the whiteboard.
When you exit inventory, you will notice the LED lights on tripods now show colored light! But if the room lights are not off, it will be very hard to see...

5B. SPOTLIGHT: You need a password to unlock the Spotlight button, which is directly related to the Sock on the lock tag.
The sock is in the second dresser drawer, from the top, along with a sweater and headset (which match the laptop screenshot....cool!).
Click on the Sock to reveal it's name...you can see this in the Descriptive name at the top of the screen, in the sticker below the sock when it raises, and even in the audio that plays when you click on the sock. I hope you didn't miss it...I tried so hard to help you here.
The sock's name is SOCKO. Which you probably remember if you watched INSIDE, but "no prior knowledge is required," blah blah blah.
Enter SOCKO for the spotlight password, which will open the small glass door that was previously blocking the spotlight button.
Turn the spotlight on. Also, note the whiteboard is telling you that it should be in the raised position. Which probably means we'll need it to be in a different position later on. Let's ignore that for now.

When Steps 5A-5B are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch), disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), and disabling the lasers (click the buttons until all three lasers are off), you will have completed Puzzle 5. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 5 is in the middle of the spotlight on the front wall. How appropriate!

Fun Fact: I had a lot of fun re-recording the audio for the chorus of this song, along with the audio you hear when you click on SOCKO. Figuring out which instruments to use and recreating both voices took a bit of effort, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Another Fun Fact: If you watch the Bo-bot animation, the SOCKO sock puppet and Bo-bot both turn to look at each other at the same time. Also, SOCKO is made out of two retextured blobs and a retextured pipe. Meh, close enough. :)

PUZZLE 6/9: "WHITE WOMAN'S INSTAGRAM"
Hint 1: Buckle up! There's a lot to do here. I think this is my favorite puzzle sequence. Let's see, the whiteboard seems to be divided into three main sections, with each pointing back to the house diagram. Let's take each one at a time.
Hint 2: The top left section shows three circular objects. Do you recognize those textures from anywhere? Also there appears to be some sort of sequence here implied by the arrows? And what is that white rectangle...maybe a shelf? So many questions...I thought these were supposed to be hints?
Hint 3: The top right section shows four angled squares, each with two colors. Have you found any objects matching those colors? There also appears to be some sort of order implied here.
Hint 4: Is that a pumpkin? Are you supposed to spin it around? Oh, you spun it and it didn't do anything? Huh. There must be more to this. What is that sticking out of the top?
Hint 5: Look at all the things you aren't allowed to use here! The one most likely (designed?) to trip you up is the LED lights, but don't let it get you. I could have just turned it off for you automatically, but where's the fun in that?

Solution:
6A. CIRCLES: The three circular objects are the bowl of oatmeal (found on the kitchen counter, unless you moved it), the avocado (found in the refrigerator, unless you moved it), and the lollipop (found on the shelf in the closet, at the start of Puzzle 6).
The white rectangle on the whiteboard is suggesting that you put these three objects on the shelf in the closet, in some order. Which the food photos on the shelf are also trying to hint at, along with the lollipop starting out on the shelf. This tripped up a few early play testers but hopefully you figured it out, and if not, now there's a walkthrough!
The order of the objects on the top shelf, from left to right, is:
Lollipop -> Oatmeal -> Avocado. But you're not done yet!

After solving the first sequence, the shelf moves down and now there is a new sequence required. You can see this on the whiteboard:
Oatmeal -> Avocado -> Lollipop.
Move the objects into this position. If you're clever or lazy, note you can just slide everything over one space to the left and then take the object that fell off and put it on the far right.

A third sequence?? Okay. But any more than that would start to get tedious. For the bottom shelf, put the objects from left to right in the order that matches the whiteboard:
Avocado -> Lollipop -> Oatmeal.
Again, you can just slide everything to the left one spot.

You did it! Pick up the string lights from the drawer that opens. We'll need them in a bit.

6B. SQUARES: The four square diagrams correspond to the colors of the four shirts in the room. One shirt starts out on the clothes rack in the closet (is this a hint?). Location of the other three shirts: in the front of the kitchen next to the round wall, behind the whiteboard, and hanging on the spotlight.
The square colors, and correct order of the shirts from left to right, are:
Red plaid -> "May Contain Wine" (maroon with white text) -> "Just a girl boss..." (black with gold text) -> "My favorite position? CEO" (black with orange text).
Put the shirts on the clothes rack in the closet, in this order.

You did it! Pick up the string lights from the pedestal that emerges out of the floor. We'll need them in a bit.

6C. PUMPKIN: The pumpkin is a candle. Do with that what you will. Also, note there are "Magic Matches" on the top of the toilet, unless you moved them. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Take a match out of the box, and then strike it on the side of the box. The matchbox will eat the match, and a lit match will appear in your inventory a few seconds later. Just go with it. You can repeat this for all six matches, if you like, and they will stack in your inventory because they are actually basketballs. Just go with that too.
Hold a match up to the pumpkin candle to light it. Cool! Now rotate the pumpkin until you can see the code on the back, which is 7334.
Enter the pumpkin code on the lock in the bathroom, which also has the unlit pumpkin candle on the tag for a hint. The cabinet will open, allowing you to pick up the string lights. We'll need them in a bit...or now actually, if you're going through the walkthrough in order!

6D. STRING LIGHTS: The room diagram on the whiteboard shows string lights on the front wall. And after picking up the string lights during Puzzle 6, you will see yellow ghost outlines on the front wall. Put each of the three string lights where they fit on the front wall (order doesn't matter).

When Steps 6A-6D are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch), disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), disabling the lasers (click the buttons until all three lasers are off), disabling the LED lights (use the LED app on the phone, and hit the large gray button with a slash through it), and turning off the spotlight, you will have completed Puzzle 6. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 6 is above the dresser, surrounded by string lights. How appropriate!

Fun Fact: All of the objects in Puzzle 6 are featured in the video for White Woman's Instagram. Along with all of the images in the calendar. I had a lot of fun coming up with ways to incorporate these into some basic puzzles. I also spent three days making the matchbox work lol.

Another Fun Fact: The string lights consist of 281 "cieling" lamps, along with some squiggly curves for the white string, and individual volumetric lights for each segment. The walls are also tinted brown to simulate how the lights would illuminate the room (this was created prior to the Room Editor 2.0 lighting changes). On that note, there are a total of eight different colored rooms here, corresponding to various lighting states: Intro (lights off, daylight), White (lights on), Black (lights off), Blue / Reddish orange / Pink / Green (LED colors), and Brown (string lights). Pink and Green aren't used for anything, but I thought you might want to play with them and they are featured briefly in the original INSIDE video.

PUZZLE 7/9: "PROBLEMATIC"
Hint 1: Finally...we have come to a proper puzzle! One of only a few in my room, if I'm being completely honest. Enjoy!
Hint 2: It looks like the water bottle and dumbbell are both relevant to this puzzle. Both appear on the top of the dresser at the start of Puzzle 7. Might be worth a closer look.
Hint 3: Did you find a lock with a hexagon on it, and a circle inside the hexagon? Call me crazy, but I have a hunch that is related to the dumbbell, somehow.
Hint 4: There is actually a third item on the whiteboard as well...don't miss it! (You can lead a horse to water...). Must be important somehow.

Solution:
The discs on the bottom of the water bottle can be rotated to spell out a stylized word, or at least letters. When properly rotated, they spell out "PRBLM" which references the name of this puzzle / song (Problematic).
The dumbbell has the letters "A-B-L-M-P-R" on each end, along with six-sided numbered dice on each end. Note you can rotate the dice to line up with letters.
You're looking for a five digit code, which translates the letters "PRBLM" to the lock digits 0-9, and using the letters and dice on the dumbbell to make that connection. Unless you're going to brute force this, what you still need is a key, or a cipher, telling you how to do that.
Flip over Puzzle Piece 6 from the prior puzzle, which is the piece with "IN" on the front. Ah, there's the cipher. Hiding in plain sight! A = 4
Rotate the dice on either end of the dumbbell, so the 4 lines up with the A. Now you know how the letters "PRBLM" from the water bottle translate to the remaining numbers. P = 2, R = 3, B = 5, L = 6, and M = 1.
Enter the combination 2-3-5-6-1 into the lock on the dresser. The top drawer unlocks and opens automatically.

When the top drawer opens, you will have completed Puzzle 7. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 7 is inside the top drawer, under the Aladdin costume which is referenced in the song that you should be hearing, if you have your Music enabled. How appropriate!

Fun Fact: I knew I wanted to use this song somehow, but coming up with a puzzle for it proved challenging. I'm happy with where this ended up though, and how stripped down this is compared to most of the other puzzle sequences.

Part of the lyrics to this song are, "...I just remembered that Aladdin costume's in my mother's attic...I'm gonna go home and burn it, or not burn it...is burning it bad? What should I do with it?" And so, I spent 2-3 days making it so you could light the Aladdin costume on fire (these "flammables" are referenced on the whiteboard in the intro sequence as well). And not saying that you should light in on fire; that is your decision, and I respect your choice. Just saying you could. With the lit matches. It would be so easy.

If you want to see the flammables in action but don't want to burn the Aladdin costume, I gotchu. Look around for something else that might be flammable. Maybe something consisting largely of paper?

PUZZLE 8/9: "WELCOME TO THE INTERNET"
Hint 1: There is another object inside the top drawer, besides Puzzle Piece 7 and the Aladdin costume. Did you pick it up yet? It's the nebula projector, which is also on the whiteboard (so by now you must know it's super important here, right?).
Hint 2: There is a sticky note on the nebula projector - probably left there by someone trying to remember what the password is for the blue combination lock? Or at least that's the meta we're going for here.
Hint 3: The sticky note references a particular day, and a particular format for that date. Where might you find a list of potential dates for the nebula projector password?
Hint 4: Do something with the microphone + mic stand + spotlight. I can't really make that any more exciting or obvious than it already is. :)

Solution:
8A. NEBULA PROJECTOR: The sticky note on the nebula projector is referring to Bo's 30th birthday, which is also marked on the wall calendar in the back of the kitchen.
Bo turned 30 on August 21, 2020, which is marked on the calendar page that includes August. Also note the cover of the calendar indicates it is a 2020 calendar.
The nebula projector combination wants the date in a specific format: YY/MM/DD, which is Year-Year (last two digits), Month-Month (two digits), and Day-Day (two digits). This translates to 20/08/21, and so the nebula password is 20-8-21.
Enter the password on the combination lock by rotating the dial to the three numbered positions. It doesn't matter which way you turn the dial (technically, a "turnable" since it snaps to all 40 digits), but you can turn it clockwise / counterclockwise / clockwise if you want to be fancy and really immerse yourself in the experience. If you mess up, the lock will spin and reset and give you another chance. Please be a little patient with it...it works about 99% of the time, which is not too shabby!
Once unlocked, the lock dial disappears and a shelf appears in the back of the main room next to the spotlight, with a yellow ghost for the projector. Place the nebula projector on this shelf, and the blue Power button will pop out of the projector.
Press the blue button to turn on the nebula projector. I thought about making it red to match the other buttons, but it really wanted to be blue. Hopefully you didn't miss it!

8B. SPOTLIGHT + MICROPHONE: Still not much to say about these.
- The microphone stand appears next to the dresser, at the start of Puzzle 8.
- The microphone is in a dresser drawer, unless you moved it.
- Place the microphone in the stand, and place the microphone stand next to the piano where the yellow ghost appears. The order of these two steps doesn't matter, which actually requires a more complicated behind-the-scenes solution involving multiple slots, but you're worth it. Still simpler than the camera assembly.
- Press the button on the spotlight to turn it on. Note the whiteboard is also telling you to move it to the lower position, so do that too and watch the fancy spotlight animation on the wall and floor. Magic!

When Steps 8A-8B are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch), disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), disabling the lasers (click the buttons until all three lasers are off), disabling the LED lights (use the LED app on the phone, and hit the large gray button with a slash through it), and turning off the string lights (use the button above the dresser), you will have completed Puzzle 8. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 8 is located on the wall above the laptop, since the laptop is one place to access the Internet. How appropriate!

Fun Fact: It took a few weeks to build the various props used in this sequence, and to get the nebula projector effect working. It uses six different ground fogs, six lasers, and several volumetric dusts that are retextured with green dots and set to rotate. The green particle animation glitches briefly when it resets, if you watch it closely enough.

Also, the spotlight projection consists of two different stickers - one for the wall, and one for the floor. When you raise or lower the spotlight, the wall and floor animations move at the same speed, and so it looks like the spotlight is smoothly moving between the wall and floor. Magic! This kind of wants to use a new 2.0 spotlight instead, but that doesn't show up on the black wall so will required a more major overhaul. Also, I really like how I faked this and wanted to leave it in for now.

PUZZLE 9/9: "THAT FUNNY FEELING"
Hint 1: You're on the home stretch now! Looks like you'll need at least four different objects to solve this puzzle, so I hope you didn't lose anything yet! Also, what's with that circular symbol on the whiteboard inside the purple outline? Maybe some sort of button or a projection?
Hint 2: Did your virtual phone buzz at the start of Puzzle 9? (It did, and the screen lit up). Might want to take a look at that. Did you think it was your IRL phone? You wouldn't be the first...sorry-not-sorry. :D
Hint 3: You won't be able to use the phone again until solving the slider puzzle. But if you can't get it or it breaks (rare), a red SKIP button will appear on screen after a bit. Don't feel bad about using it.
Hint 4: Did anything change on the phone when it unlocked again? Might want to investigate any differences you find, and see if there are any new toys to play with.
Hint 5: Three of the objects on the whiteboard look like they want to be measured, in very specific orientations. What might you use to measure them? Hint-within-a-hint: view [that thing] in Inventory, and then drag each object onto [that thing] after extending it. You can't drag [that thing] onto each object, even though that would have also been cool. Sorry...I hope that doesn't influence your Thumbs rating for my room.
Hint 6: Okay, you got the measurements, but now what? Is there a lock tag somewhere that references those measurements? Most likely.
Hint 7: This song is the only one that uses a guitar, and it needs to be next to the chair so that the Bo-bot can play it.

Solution:
9A. PROJECTOR APP: I can't tell you the exact sequence to solve the projector slider puzzle, or how it works. I mean, I could have told you if you hadn't already messed it up, but at this point your guess is as good as mine. It operates a bit differently than a more traditional 3x3 puzzle. Play with it as long as you're having fun, and skip it if you aren't!
Once the slider puzzle is complete, hit the "GET" button to download the app, and then note that it appears on your phone home screen after downloading, above the Meditation app (did you click on the Meditation app yet? It triggers audio from the same song as this puzzle!)
Click the new Projector app icon to go to the Projector app screen. There are four buttons, each corresponding to a different projection from INSIDE. You can toggle each on or off, one at a time.
You need to enable the projection that matches the whiteboard. It's the projection with the Trees, which is the top right button.

9B. GUITAR: The guitar case appears between the desk and whiteboard at the start of Puzzle 9. But you need a three digit code to unlock the case, which is related to the measuring the three objects on the whiteboard.
To complete the measurements, you will need to find and pick up four objects:
- Bugles bag: inside a kitchen cabinet, to the right of the window
- The Live-Action Lion King Blu-Ray case: inside the cabinet in the bathroom, where you found the string lights for Puzzle 6
- Grand Theft Auto V Xbox Game box: in the closet under the clothes rack, next to the pillow
- Tape measure: Under the kitchen sink

With all four objects above in your pocket, start by viewing the Tape measure. Click the button to extend the yellow measuring tape. Ideally this animation would play smoothly, but there is a bug in Examine mode which makes it only work on occasion. Sadge.
Drag each item one at a time onto the tape measure, and record the dimensions of each. Note the whiteboard also gives you an A-B-C order for these measurements, which translates to the order of the guitar case lock.
The measurements are:
- Bugles: 6
- Live-Action Lion King: 7
- Grand Theft Auto V: 9
Enter 6-7-9 for the guitar case lock to unlock that lock. But the case still won't open yet??

Click the two latches on the guitar case to open them with a satisfying click. Both are single-use, but you can always replay the level if you want additional ASMR clicking satisfaction.
Pick up the guitar (which also makes a VERY satisfying sound), and place it next to the chair in the middle of the room where the yellow ghost appears.

When Steps 9A-9B are completed, along with turning off the room lights (use a light switch), disabling the mirror ball (raise it with the lever in the kitchen), disabling the lasers (click the buttons until all three lasers are off), disabling the LED lights (use the LED app on the phone, and hit the large gray button with a slash through it), turning off the spotlight, turning off the nebula projector, and turning off the string lights (use the button above the dresser), you will have completed Puzzle 9. Don't forget to grab your puzzle piece!
Puzzle Piece 9 is a real doozy. You'll find it inside the yellow crate that the drone brings, underneath the "Getting Better" book. Which I wrote. Don't forget to flip it over, for a photo of my cat!

Fun Fact: From the very beginning of designing this INSIDE escape room, starting all the way back in early February 2022, I knew this was going to be the last main puzzle, and that somehow I wanted to have a drone delivering the final puzzle piece along with the book (which is referenced in this song). But it took me four months to get there since I didn't know the first thing about designing an escape room or using the ES Room Editor. I really tried to pull out all the stops for this one, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it! Except for the drone + crate animation, that was a bugger lol.

FINAL PUZZLE:
You received a Puzzle Piece after completing Puzzles 1-9 (I know this, because it wouldn't let you proceed otherwise...you've been On Rails this whole time!). And hopefully by now you figured out the puzzle pieces can go on the mirror in the kitchen, where a 3x3 grid pattern appeared after you solved Puzzle 1.
Arrange the nine puzzle pieces in the 3x3 grid, to recreate a view of the INSIDE room from the actual special, which is also the official album cover art. If you get stuck, here's a screenshot of how it should look:

With the 3x3 puzzle assembled correctly, the mirror opens, revealing a congratulatory poster from INSIDE, along with a key that will finally let you escape the room. Now would be a good time to pick it up, but feel free to linger as well and play with all of the toys you have unlocked.
Unlock the front door with the key from the mirror, which will trigger the "Goodbye" song. It's the only song I recorded in its entirety, which runs for about four minutes. You don't have to listen to the full thing though. Not gonna lie, the first time I had a successful play test through all 9 puzzles and unlocked the door and that audio kicked in, I had all the feels. Also I was probably operating on three hours of sleep lol.
When you exit the room, walk forward to trigger the "Day Complete" sequence and a final Bo-bot. See if you can figure out how the credits/achievements scroll works without peeking below.
There are three huge dials with all of the achievements listed on each. The top and bottom dials have red text, and the middle dial has white text. There is a black plane making it so that only a small portion of each dial clips through the plane at any given time. As the dials rotate upward, at the point where the bottom red dial text begins to clip back into the wall, the identical white text from the middle dial begins to appear. And the same process is repeated for the top red dial. Magic.
At any point after triggering the credits, you can Finish the room using the button that appears next to the door you walked through. You can also choose to re-enter the room, or click the other button to visit this game page on Steam (but you're already here, so that just seems silly...but you do you!).
In the official Confetti finish, you are surrounded by nine scenes from INSIDE, which also match the laptop screens in my room, and the order of the nine puzzles, plus a tenth screen for Day Complete. As you rotate, if you like this will give you a chance to compare how the actual settings from INSIDE compare to my attempts to recreate them.

Thanks so much for playing INSIDE: Escape Simulator Edition! I hope you liked it. Please consider leaving a Rating and a comment (smash that Like button!), and certainly let me know in the Bugs discussion if you find anything that seems broken.

What a lovely and well thought out walkthrough! So many behind-the-scenes fun facts. Neato!

Thanks! If anyone has even half as much fun reading this as I had making it, then I will be very glad for that. If not, well at least I still had fun making it lol.

Thanks so much! That means a lot to me. It's a bit wordy in places, but I had a lot of fun compiling this and it kind of took on a life of its own. :)

Hey there! Just finished this with my husband - he's a 3d animator so had a blast - we were able to do the whole puzzle but once we got all the keys and put them in the mirror nothing happened lol. Super fun. Also - i'm a music producer/singer and you did SO well with the covers. Bravo all round.

Thanks for the feedback! I wonder if you had the top left and top right corner pieces switched around? They are very similar. Otherwise it might have just been an activator that failed to trigger. I know Pine is working on making those more reliable. 🤞

When you solve the 3x3 puzzle, the mirror opens, revealing Bo in a ghillie suit from Bezos II, with a key attached to the backside that you can use on the exterior door. You're done at that point, other than the "Day Complete" room with credits/accomplishments scroll, and the final final room with the laptop screens revolving around you (technically you are revolving around them :) ).

You didn't miss much, but if you want to see the last bit you can check out one of the streams I linked to. Sorry you didn't get a chance to finish though - you were so close!

Thanks for the kind words on music production as well. I wrote and recorded a lot of songs a few years ago, but then I took an extended break. This project was a good excuse to get back into it, and I'm looking forward to doing more writing and recording.

Thanks for checking out my room! Hmm, I don't know of a bug for that puzzle. Did you use the phone to change the LED lights to blue and then call Mom again if you hung up on her? It sounds like you did everything else right.

Thanks for letting me know! There is a known bug with the phone and how inventory items are handled in multiplayer. The developers are working on it, but for now only the host should handle the phone. Sorry about that!

There is a slight chance you might be able to fix this by throwing the phone in the trash and then picking it up again, but I haven't been able to verify this. I would be curious if this works for you.

The Nebula projector has the same issue as the phone, in this case at least, throwing it in the trash didn't fix it.

Thanks for letting me know! Yes, it is still a little buggy in multiplayer if multiple players touch it. I know the developer is still working on a solution to improve how pickable items work in Multiplayer.

The last piece of the puzzle is stuck in the ground, can't pick it up to beat the game

Sorry to hear that you got stuck! I haven't seen that particular bug happen before. Were you in multiplayer? I'm wondering if it was de-sync. I tested throwing things at the floor; it used to be possible to get the string lights stuck since they are impossibly thin, but I tweaked the floor height and collider and haven't seen issues since then with Pickables on the floor.
