Also, is there a chance that we are going to get enclosed versions of the US quad Bofors and 3'/50 DP turrets? I know the USN never developed an enclosed version of the bofors but I think that would be a cool addition.
Also also, are you going to do a triple US 18' turret? And speaking of US 18 inch guns, are you going to add versions that fire the 3850 lb super heavy AP shell?
Also also also, is the range difference between the twin 20mm Oerlikon and the Oerlikon Thunderbolt intenitonal? The twin Oerlikon fires out to 4 km but the Thunderbolt only fires out to 3 km.
So firstly,
- I am going to do the 6''/47 DP turret. Currently it is being modelled from scratch. I will consider modelling the Minotaur turret soon to accompany the next update.
- Enclosed versions of the Bofors and 3''/50 guns sound like a good idea. I will see if I can make something once I get around to reworking those models.
- Once I finish reworking the dual 18'' turret, I will make a triple version of it.
- There's some inconsistencies in the stats of many guns, I plan to rework it once I get my damage formulas redone in the near future.
In twin, triple, and quad turrets.
1. 12-inch/50-caliber Mark 8 (Alaska guns).
2. 14-inch/50-caliber Mark B.
3. 16-inch/50-caliber Mark 7.
4. 18-inch/47-caliber Mark A.
I know that you already have the 14, 16, and 18-inch guns in quad, triple, and twin turrets respectively and I wonder if you could make the other models based off those. How difficult would it be to, say, make a quad 16-inch gun using the triple 16 as a base to work from?
Here are some more miscellaneous suggestions.
1. 16-inch/45-caliber Mark 6.
2. A triple version of the 5-inch/54-caliber Mark 16.
3. A quad version of the 8-inch/55-caliber Mark 16 RF.
4. Hypothetical U.S. 10-inch/55-caliber guns, possibly in twin, triple, and quad turrets.(1)
5. An Elbing style German 150mm/60-caliber DP gun.
6. 12-inch/45-caliber Mark 5/6 and 12-inch/50-caliber Mark 7 guns in twin turrets.(2)
(1) Maybe with barbette diameters that let us swap them out with the 8-inch/55-caliber guns on a twin-10-for-a-triple-8 basis.
(2) Possibly with modifications to the turrets to increase the gun elevation and, subsequenity, the firing range out to 30~km, similer to what the British did with the 15-inch/42-caliber turrets that were mounted on Vanguard.
Thank you for your time and thank you for working so diligently on the Assorted Modpack.
I am very sorry that I used your nuber mod in infrigement.I have deleted them and I promise I won't use them incorrectly in the future.
Finally, thank you very much for providing these mods, and also for the community's contribution.
Have a nice day.
Greetings,
Thanks for your response. I get that we all make mistakes so don't worry about it. If you like any specific models that's in the modpack to use, edit, and so on, feel free to contact me and I'll be more than happy to send the original models to you. I wish the best to you and appreciate your efforts to the community as a modder.
Since last year, I was making preparations to rework the Assorted Modpack and transition all of the existing models to a new and improved standard as well as more accurate damage and dispersion values. Unfortunately, a buggy game launcher wiped out my entire hard drive and as a result, the original project files are no longer fully intact. Consequently, I was unable to release updates of the Assorted Modpack directly to the workshop.
In spite of this setback, I was able to finish the improved damage and dispersion formula that I planned last year, and have upgraded a significant amount of models. The plan is to continue upgrading existing models to the new standard and have it release no sooner than the upcoming aircraft update (either as an update to the Assorted Modpack or under a new mod, depending if I'm able to fully replicate the old project from scratch).
I wish the best to you and the NavalArt community.
Sincerely,
Admiral Bofors
