Perhaps have the eastern slavs culturally broken up by the start date and maybe with a couple of rus pockets or just being able to form rus and slavify any norse provinces in russia?

This is on my to-do list, but not for the next patch. Will require some research into the historical population distribution, so maybe for the version after that.
