My idea was that if you try to bit-flip back to the original item, there would be a small, but meaningful chance, that the item gets erased/corrupted, much like the eternal d6 might but less likely. What happens when an item is corrupted is all up to you, and what might happen when a corrupted item gets further corrupted would be even more interesting.
This would also be an effective patch for active items recharging on flip because each time you abused this there would be a small chance you lose the item.
Thanks again for such a fun character! :>
What i was thinking might lower it a bit is adding the "When something replace something with something else" effect TMtrainer often uses. For example
"Every 10 seconds, replace tears with sword tears"
"When bomb, replace enemies with bombs"
Its generally a bit of a lower power effect so it maybe makes them a bit weaker?
convert action is coming next update >:)
I don't think adding more chance based effects is a good strategy to rely on for balance. How about flipping a corrupted item back into it's normal item counterpart adds the negative effects from the corrupted item onto the normal item? That way instead of it acting as a free reroll, there's a risk element that could cause you to ruin a decent normal item by being greedy for some good corrupted ones.
I'll probably not change free will and parity and leave them as easy modes, but add additional harder / more balanced modes. But that's a pretty good idea, each time you flip the items get more corrupted / terrible.
For the mystery corrupt item mode, I think something to make you more incentivised to take mystery items would be good.. Maybe a guaranteed damage upgrade and / or taking damage upon picking up a normal item? Let me know if you have any other ideas.
Yeah I'm either going to change it so it doesn't recover after it's wasted or for it to waste much easier, letting the negatives pile on..
it would have been better if his active wasn's as strong but regenerated each floor.
But don't those two conflict, it breaks forever so you're forced to be selective with what you use it for
here is the document [docs.google.com] that contains my thoughts on each game mode. if you would like to read my thoughts on the deleted character as a whole, plus tainted deleted, here is another link [docs.google.com] to a WAY bigger document that contains the reviews of those individual characters as well, with ctrl + f instructions on how to search for them specifically.
even if you choose only to read this document without considering any changes i have suggested (i have done so with only one or two characters,) then that is completely fine. thank you for your time anyways and i hope you enjoy.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I've read all of this and it's awesome. Thanks for writing in such detail about each mode! Surprised MYDOOM is your #1 lol. Also most of your suggestions I agree with and will be in the next update.
As for the next update, it's still coming, I've been moving around a lot and can't focus on modding. But it'll be a bigger update whenever it comes..
