xMod

xMod doesn't appear in the Workshop menu
xMod used to work for me in Postal 2, but now it doesn't show up in the Workshop menu or in-game. I've tried unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod several times and that didn't work. There also seems to be no folder for xMod in Postal 2's WorkshopContent directory (none of the folders inside match the Steam ID of xMod).

Is this mod broken or is it just me?

I managed to get xMod working again last night after I saw that the creator was still updating the Workshop page. Turns out that I had some mods that conflicted with xMod, and today I think I've worked out why. Since xMod displays as a custom gamemode in the Workshop menu, this means that if you are using multiple mods that act as custom gamemodes, then only two of them will appear at once on the Workshop menu. I had a Sandbox mod that I was subscribed to and I got rid of that as well as the huge 7-part AVPC mod and then xMod reappeared in the Workshop menu. (I also unsubbed from a couple of other mods called "Fabulous World!" and "Cat Mode").

So basically, if you're subbed to a lot of mods like me, have a look at which mods are custom gamemodes and unsubscribe from them as they are likely blocking xMod from appearing on-screen.

I don't have any mods, and it's not appearing in the Mods tab. I do have a few maps, but I don't see why that would cause a conflict. If it does, can you tell me how to remove downloaded items, because I can't seem to do it.

When you say "Mods tab," do you mean when you click the Mods tab at the top of the Workshop menu and there's two white boxes containing the mods? If so, this is not where xMod appears. To access xMod, click New Game -> Workshop and click the box with the game mode in it (usually set to POSTAL 2 or POSTAL 2: A Week in Paradise). xMod should appear as an option in this box, so you would then click on it and start the game.

I looked in the "Mods" tab in the workshop folder, yes, but it's still not there. I tried all the modes (AWiP, Postal 2, Apocalypse, etc.), but it wouldn't appear...

Should I unsubscribe and reinstall the mod? Only, I saw above that that didn't work for a few people, so I don't know what to do.

Try unsubbing from all of your mods and then subscribing to xMod, it will probably start working then. Once you've done that, I guess you could try resubscribing to your other mods one at a time to see which ones are conflicting with xMod. I had to unsub from a bunch of mods to get xMod to work again.

I got it working, thanks...but now I can't figure out how to bring it up in-game; the "pause" (shift) key isn't bringing it up. :(

It appears as an option at the bottom of the pause menu.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The only option at the bottom of the ESC menu is "Exit Game" or similar... What do you mean, the "pause menu"?
TomHorror Jun 26, 2015 @ 8:13pm
When you pause the game (by pressing ESC), there should be an option at the bottom of the menu that says "xMod." It should be located underneath the Exit Game button.

Nope. The last option is "Resume Game", with nothing added beneath it. The mod is in the "Mods" folder in the workshop area of "New Game", and I am able to select it and everything, but I can't actually access it in-game... :(

I've just uploaded some images showing how to access xMod: http://imgur.com/a/P2llM

If xMod still does not appear in-game, try unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod. If this doesn't work, make sure none of your other mods are still conflicting with xMod. Other than that, I'm not sure what has gone wrong with xMod since it works for me.

Did anyone know how to let it work?
TomHorror Jul 5, 2016 @ 5:13pm
Well when my xMod din't work, I think I unsubscribed from all of my mods and then resubbed to xMod. I then resubbed to my other mods one by one to see what caused it. I think it might have been because I also had the Ultimate Sandbox mode installed, which may have used up one of the slots in the Mode setting found in the Workshop menu.

Bear in mind it was a while ago when I did all that, so I'm not too sure what the problem was, but I hope this helps in some way. And yes my xMod is working now (or at least it was the last time I played P2).
