FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
How do I report a bug or other problem?

Issue reports are appreciated as it helps find and fix any problems with the mod.

To report a problem, please start a new discussion thread for the specific issue. Using separate discussion threads makes it easier for me to stay organized and give updates on individual issues.

When posting, please include any relevant information that would help me reproduce the issue, such as:
  • A brief description of the problem
  • Spawn codes (card codes, scenario codes, deck IDs, etc.)
  • Error messages and chat log output
  • A screenshot or two, if possible

Card images take a long time to load, or get stuck loading - why?

Tabletop Simulator (TTS) performs differently from machine to machine. However, if you're experiencing long image load times, or loading seems to get "stuck" when spawning cards, you may need to update the Visual C++ 2012 runtime on your machine. Please see this Reddit thread for details. If your machine has both the x86 and x64 versions installed, be sure to reinstall both of them.

Though updating the Visual C++ 2012 runtime is preferable, you can alternatively try turning off "Mod Threading" in TTS settings. This is found under Menu -> Configuration -> Game.

Cards sometimes look blurry - can I improve that?

Almost all of the card images the mod uses are loaded on-demand directly from ArkhamDB[arkhamdb.com], save for some special cases that are hosted on additional cloud storage. The resolution of the older card images from ArkhamDB are rather small, and their quality in-game relies on how TTS scales them.

TTS does have some in-game graphics options that can help improve the rendering of the card images, which I recommend ensuring are turned on. These are "Full Size Textures" and "Sharpen"; these can be found under Menu -> Configuration -> Graphics.

You can also zoom in on card images by hovering the mouse over a card, holding the ALT key (Option key on Mac), and using the mouse wheel to adjust the view size to your preference.

Using alternate card images in the mod requires more external storage and manual attention per card. For those reasons I tend to reserve replacing card images for when an image on ArkhamDB[arkhamdb.com] is missing or incorrect.

What are the cards with "?" on them?

When a card side shows "?", it means the card has no image or has the incorrect image on ArkhamDB[arkhamdb.com]. I can sometimes find substitute images as a workaround for the mod, but it is not always possible.

When you encounter one of these cards in your game session, you can refer to the card's text on ArkhamDB[arkhamdb.com] or refer to your physical paper cards.

How do I use premade ArkhamDB decklists?

It might be easiest to think of decklists (published decks) on ArkhamDB as "snapshots" of a deck. These do not have deck IDs and cannot be directly spawned into your session. Instead, you can use the "copy" button on the ArkhamDB decklist page to clone them to your ArkhamDB account, which creates a new deck and assigns it a deck ID.

I like the mod! How can I help with it?

I hope the mod provides a simple and easy to use platform to complement your in-person game time with friends. If you like the mod, you can help by giving it a positive rating on its Steam workshop page.
