Personally I believe when Artificial God fought Z'othra, it caused a black hole similar to that of when the true power of the shell interacts with it, thus splitting Z'othra's powers into random humans and colleagues of Z'othra. Artificial God, now betraying the Sightless, hunts down all "gifted" (humans given abilities by Z'othra), and the soul fragment and shell. He either uses these gifted's abilities against themselves or makes them cease to exist (see interaction with Z'othras soul) -DCElement
