Damas Wisp Alt Helmet
Xycelium 12. aug. 2019 kl. 17.10
Before anyone starts talking about what DE "said" about this item.
If anyone recalls correctly, there was an image floating around with this item attached to it, related to how there was some critique given to the creator of this helmet, on how it wouldn't be accepted in-game because of it's features of the hood and 'eyes'. Now while I am not here to argue whether or not these features are too prominent enough to disallow this item to be added, I do want to address how there needs to be some extra context given to that situation.

Apparently, based on this post by [DE]Megan: The feedback that this Tweet was referring to was not official critique offered through our structured feedback rounds and thus isn't reflective of the TennoGen team. We have cleared up this misunderstanding with the creator already.[forums.warframe.com] Basically, someone gave a critique or told the creator something related to the TennoGen guidelines, and people though it was an official statement by DE (which is possibly how that image spawned up in the first place).

So please, just understand that situation has already been resolved and there's no need to stir anything else up. I guess if there's a discussion that's needed to be said about the eligibility of the item, that could be possibly done and it seems fine, but it'd be unnecessary dig up this buried hatchet again.

So, some... hollowhead dude (no vulgarity allowed :P ) said it's forbidden to make particular details such as eyes and hoods? Umm... what? Those eyes looks cool, but... they pretty far from real eyes position. And hoods... this frame literally wears a tight hood on alt helmet (dunno the real name of it... the hood thing I mean) and it's forbidden too? Again - WHAT?

Not sure how the hood is bad? There's a tennogen Ivara helm that has a hood like shape with rabbit ears. (I use it) so this is fine I would think. I would buy this helm instantly, looks great.

No, that's from the official style guide for Tennogen submissions, provided by DE. A style guide which they, themselves, frequently contradict with their creations, so apparently it's more like vague guidelines, and as far as I know, it was mostly that one OP in the other thread who actually thought this particular item would get disqualified on those grounds.

And yeah. Other Tennogen items that seem to contradict some of those style "rules" were still accepted, so even the official statements are not necessarily set in stone.

Indeed. And Mirage Prime - her official, primary skin - pretty much has eye lights exactly where DE say not to put them. There are other examples as well, of course, I'm sure plenty of you can think of several. :)

Besides the Ivara youkai(bunny ears) skin that would be the next tennogen I would buy

Well, it's still up for DE to decide whether or not, since they haven't given their feedback on the helmet yet (or denied/accepted it for that matter). The next TennoGen Round deadline is on the 26th of this month, and they still have to announce the winners (usually 2 weeks later), so we'll just have to wait.

I mean, I don't see why DE has to follow the TennoGen guidelines for creating their own items, I know they use their own creations as references for the guide, but it's usually non-Deluxe and non-Prime items. It can look a little odd that a Deluxe skin can seem to contain many features that would be denied in a TennoGen one, but that may be due to how there's more overall control of that skin within their offices compared to a TennoGen which can be made by anyone.

I rather like this helm and if it is allowed by DE I will pick it up. I will confess though that DE's rules don't seem to jive with what they have already allowed and what they themselves create so they seem less like rules and more like a vague mechanic that they can use to strike creations down they dislike and point at the "rules" so they don't get painted as the bad guy.

for anyone that sees this "volt storm helmet exists" yes and we can't even tell where the face begins or ends you can't even tell what you're looking at

i think is good... any businessman would say that... if client's wan't a helmet with freaking ears you will give them that ears and sleep on money... i always say... you can be good graphic modder or good gamemaker.. but if you suck in marketing you cannot stay alive there:D

Seems like the best way to apologize is to put it through in the next round, hm? ;)
