Splash Mountain L4D review
We had three completely different computers install these levels on a Vanilla L4D installations. This is campaign only. When choosing the ADD-ON campaign, L4D gave me a popup saying there were file conflicts; however, we had no problems launching and joining the local server game.

You start off at the front gate of Disneyland and head into the main street for a bit. The best parts of the levels:

  1. The ticket booth area is really well done - well Mickey's flower bed face looks -- zombied.
  2. Disney's own "apartment"
  3. Tiki Room - with moving birds, tiki's, and soundtrack!
  4. Adventure land - the "front" of the jungle boat ride - but not the ride itself :(
  5. The tunnel to the Indiana Jone ride - but not the ride itself :(
  6. The famous Haunted Mansion Elevator is EXACT - with the stretching pictures, and sound track. - no, the ride itself is not there - thought I wonder if the control room exists. You also get the room where the pictures change, and the statues stare at you -- really cool.
  7. However, the diamond of this pack is the Splash Mountain ride (or "Flash Mountain" if you read the grafitti in the game). It's pretty much EXACT as the actual theme park ride. The exact music, animatronics,

ISSUES:

Gameplay-wise the challenge was really easy. There's just too many wide areas, ammo, an long narrow routes making it difficult for boomers, smokers to hide. You are playing this for the nostalgia.

One big bug at the end:, is that once we filled up the humvee with gas, we heard the helicopter sound, but nothing happened, no end scene. It's like the author didn't know how to code the last part of the level.

In hind sight, I sorta wish the author dumped the Splash Mountain, and went with either Pirates of the Caribbean or a full fleshed out Haunted Mansion ride - which would be cool to see animatronic ghosts surrounded by zombies, etc

Love to hear your thoughts:
