idk why but when I load up the game with the mod enabled nothing changes everything is exactly the same as the base game

Sometimes EU4 or Steam (or even both) are a little bit buggy. You can first open EU4, deselect my mod and close the game again. After that you start it again and reselect my mod and wait 1 - 2 sec. Then you start the game.

If there is still no change, then Steam did forget to download the actual mod. In that case you first unsubscribe the mod. Then you go into your C:\Users\*Your Username*\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod and delete everything with the name "french_hre". After that you subscribe the mod again and start EU4. Steam will now download the mod again, but it will take a little bit of time, which means you could cancel the download if you immediate start to play. To avoid this I recommend to close EU4 and wait a little bit. Then you open it again, look if the mod is selected and start the game.

ok I fixed it and I gotta say so far I like this mod and I'm excited for future updates. Keep up the good work
