Cities: Skylines

Cities: Skylines

Achieve It!
Achieve It for non-Steam versions
Hi everyone, hope you're all well.

I own the game in Epic Games and I need this mod to enable my achievements. I already have TMPE and Harmony installed from their respective GitHub pages. But when I visited the GitHub page for this mod, I only found the raw code files.

Steamworkshop Downloader is no longer active due to legal issues. So only method of modding in non-Steam versions is to ask the authors to upload the files somewhere else.

Can anyone please update the GitHub page to have the instructions and the compiled files that are installed by Steam in the Mods folder of the game? I can then download them and copy to my version.

Thanks!

I did some quick research and I found that, when Steam Downloader announced their shutdown, they suggest SteamCMD as a replacement. I have not looked into how to use it, but you can search for SteamCMD online.

SteamCMD only allows you to download the files if your account owns them. You need to sign-in and authenticate your account through the tool, then you can request for files to download. Steam Downloader had account(s) that owned everything and just hosted the files in their server
If you wait for the next Steam sale, you can usually get just the base game for $3. then you can create a Steam account and you can subscribe all of the that you want.

The subscriptions are stored in the Steam Workshop folder at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop

Or wherever you installed Steam.

Then you can just subscribe all the workshop you want, then you can copy the files in the "workshop" folder to your Epic Games folder. Likely to Appdata.

C:\Users\Ron\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Addons (to asset/Mod folders)

Just change Ron to your windows username.

You may need to give file explorer permission for "Hidden Items" in the "View" tab

I already have the game, why would I buy it again in Steam? This problem is easily solved if the mod was available in other platforms like MoveIt, MacSergey's mods and others, which are available on GitHub.
