Sonic Request: Frequency Modes
I though that because the sonic may be re-done, that it could have frequency modes.
Frequency Functions.
Low Frequency: Open and closing doors/ activate button's etc, Medical Scans. Unable to Lock or Unlock them or turn things like Rollmines, manhacks etc. into friendly's NPC.
Normal Frequency: Basiclly what it is now.
High Frequency: Activate's doors/ Button's etc. and when soniced sparks fly everywhere and they become unusable, can also permanently lock Button's/ Doors etc. only way to unlock is to blow the door off or use the first function, Blows up Rollmines, manhacks etc.

Function Transitions:
LF: Closed Sonic.
LF to NF: the player twist's the top half of the sonic. (like what Matt Smith use to do.)
NF to HF: (Kind of obvious) the player flicks his wrist and it extends fully.

Maybe they should have diffrent speed's like,
LF: 5 secs to open/close doors
NF: 3 secs to open/close doors and to lock and unlock them.
HF: 1 sec to use its functions.
and finally the LF should make a deepish sound. NF should stay the same. HF should be a highpitch sound.

The idea of my sonic is that everything works with a click, no need to set it up. It's the closest to 'point and think' that is possible in GMod.

I thought Matt Smith just extended the prongs out... Not that he twisted the top of it... o.o

I can't recall which episode's he twisted the top but I know i've seen him do it before.

I remember seeing him twist it in the 50th... But I thought that was him positioning it so that it fit better or something. o.o

i think the why the sonic extends is for longer range or for it to add a stronger sonic wave for it to be more effective

just had an i dea from what you said, what if theres another type of scanning and it can scan for players or npcs and when the sonic is extended it does long range and when it closed its short range there doesnt need to be a gui it will be there a difference in the sound when you are scaning for players or npcs

there can be a way where it changes you do a combo, for example say j was for scanning for players or npcs then you extend the sonic and press alt+j for a long range scan or say you want to teleport to your tardis(when you are linked) you press alt+r
