Fairfield Terror (L4D2) - Bug Reports
Have you encountered any bugs, glitches, errors, or anything unusual in the campaign? Have a reasonable suggestion to make? Please let us know!

Here's a current list of gathered reports:
- Decal fade distances on many of the maps are force-faded very shortly (this issue seems to be related to the way fog works in L4D2 and can't easily be fixed without changing the fog settings all together)

The first time I played the map I came across a game breaking bug, I'll try to see if it happens consistantly in the same place cause I might of had a severe case of bad luck perhaps. In the hospital in the room right next to the elevator (The room to the right if facing the elevator with the closet) for some reason while I was holding out in there, around the time the elevator reached us, everyone including me somehow sunk through the floor and got stuck under the map unable to move and none of us could teleport out. It bugged out causing the need to restart the campaign which made me pretty upset.

That's the only abnormal thing that's happened so far to me currently, though I plan to play the map a million times to find anymore possible issues. I want this map to be as perfect as it can be cause it's so awesome. :3

I was told by a friend that this happened to him as well. If there's any way you can replicate it again, let me know.

Oh no, it appears to happen very, very consistantly, it seems to keep happening near the elevator in general usually by the time the number on the elevator is around 8 if you hold out near or around it.

First time playing in this map and I encountered a game breaking bug in which I could not lock the first safe room door so I couldn't proceed to the second part of the map. Not sure if it was server related since I chose the "best dedicated server" option

Could you fix the navigation for AI during the defend on the roof? They seems to like jumping of the roof and lose half of their health

Witch Spawn Bug:
Minor Bug

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but in the Subway chapter, near the end (with the red car that alerts the horde near the saferoom), on your left, there is a fence, and on this fence, there was a Witch.

I'm probably sure this isn't really important, and it doesn't break the game.

Witch spawns are randomized, placed on nav points. I'll see what I can do to make them not spawn in weird areas.

so i just finished the map... no idea why people are having a bug where they clip throug hthe ground by the Elevator, as that didn't happen to me, and i was standing right by the elevator as well.

then again maybe i jumped? but also the bots never jumped, so they should of gone through the map if that bugged happened soo... only thing i can think of is conflicting mods ro something

the map itself is freaking awesome! and i wish this was the default map in the game. the forced gas station explosion (i think it's forced) is a nice touch, as that makes much more sense to attract the horde then a stupid scissor lift.

my one slight issue with this map, was when i went into the sewers... the room where you are supposed to wait for the door to open? there was no idication as to wait for it, i just saw the lights go out, and then i saw my AI bots weird fully body glow outline through the walls and thought it was a bug... so i left the area, and came back after like a minute and saw the path was open and was like "um ok?"

but that was propbably my bad for having my sound volume very low to hear my friend in our skype call XD

all in all, i loved the map, im not sure if there are any nav issues. maybe other than the bots seeming to fall behind even when i have a mod that is supposed to keep them closer to me when that mod works on the default maps? not sure... could be a nav issue, or could be the mod i have... but seriously, awesome map!! ^^

Glad to see you enjoyed the map!

I'd like to give a few tips about the campaign though. The gas station panic event isn't forced, but instead avoidable. Blowing up the gas station triggers the horde spawn, so be careful! Unless your bot teamates are stupid.

I don't know how to fix the visual glow bug in the sewers, but it doesn't affect playabiliy in any way. You need to manually open the gate with the red handle by pressing your use key on it, or walking up and touching it.

oooohhhh so i must of by mistake waled up to the red handle and it triggerd.... my bad on that part lol

and yes, i was playing with bots so one of them shot the gas station. not a problem though as i stilll prefer it blowing up to call a horde. what was Valve thinking? making a Scissor lift call a horde, rather then a freaking explosion? like really..

Can you not just put a trigger in the elevator to prevent player jumping?
"trigger_player_movement" or something like that.
It has a flag or setting for no jumping if I remember correctly.

Why is the bot legitimately doesn`t shot a single infected in chapter 3?
Cause i just play through it and 3 bot literally doesn`t even shot 1 bullet.

You can't go through a window. On the first map. Yeah. And also, optimize the map slot, since it tends to crash when loading third chapter.
