Balancing the Hiver Exoskeleton
Welp, it happened:

Patch 0.99.2 -Added leather and chain shirts for the Hivers

Now the question is, what will happen to the hiver exoskeleton added by this mod? I haven't played it and i'm not in a position to play the game to great extent at the moment. So your input would be most invaluable on this.

The way i see it, one of three things can potentially happen here:
1.- The hiver exo gets overhauled to become adjusted in stats to current vanilla hiver shirts.
2.- The hiver exo gets taken out entirely, meaning that the mod would only focus on the hiver shell for soldier drones type units.
3.- Nothing happens, everything stays the same.

Your input and experience on this would be of IMMENSE help for me on this one.

From what I seen the Mod dose try and fight the new shirts/vests but the shirts cover the stomach and chest not every thing to a certain point. If your going for looks and the new kid on the block use the Vests. if your wishing to use the Better Armor vaule use the Exoskeleton's. Useing this mod with the new EXP update can have both items spawn Heck even on the new Pink boi's, as in how commen the vests are to the shells? No idea but enough you will have a okay time picking out your hiver's gear. I still like this mod idea and still will use it after my current run of testing.

And after a while of AHEM "testing" Hiver workers/civs and other low on the pole Hiver units will gain from having this mod. As for the new southern hivers well it would make them just that harder to kill with the extra all around armor and not just Stomach and torso.

Until the Devs come up with their own armor for hive soldier heads at least 2, three would be fine, or tweak it so only wealthier or well established hives have the exo, so new hives and low level thralls use the cheap stuff.
Though I would like to suggest a number 4 that we could get blueprints. Every time I try to mod your mod it crashes the FCS.
I am trying to do a playthrough with a young prince who returned from a trading trip to an older hive and finds his hive destroyed (Holy Nation or Slavers) and keeps his caravan together to seek revenge 47 Ronin style, with a 30 nobodies start.

And Blue prints for the new shirts can be found.. I don't know if in normal Hiver shops or shops in general but i found all mine in a Southern hive settlement.... was fun MAing them all to death with four people.

Huh, that's weird, i don't have issues myself with my mod crashing the FCS, and i have the same copy that you should have.

In fact, i haven't seen a single mod that could crash the FCS, are you sure it's not something else?

I think mix of 1 and 3 is best maybe make the carapiece go into the boot slot for hivers? Makes sense to me since they are bugs and should have a cover all shell of some type plus they have stick feet and cant(shouldent) wear footware anyways. Also maybe make a southern(only) hive variant that is tougher.

It is when I try to create a new item, it creates and exception and wants to close, it seems like every mod file does that though. I just starting to learn modding and was trying to make a blueprint of the shells.

it has an interesting take on extra armor and how to change it.
Not sure if the idea of getting drunk and high is the best way to stronger natural armor, I would have gone with leather and animal teeth instead of cactus moonshine and hashish. Though that seems more with the game lore.
