Yeah, but I am used to microing ranged creatures rather than using melee.

I would suggest not using level 1 creatures, they are almost never WORTH it. You'll have a way better time with level II :p

Misson 5:

Maybe make slightly easier? maybe its just me but you get swamped by attacks super early especially since my quickest time for dealing with the fires is like 6min due to having to micro-manage the living ♥♥♥♥ out of those dumb archercoyotes so they dont run into the fire.

The outpost hasn't even reached Lv3 yet and you're dealing with so many lv3 creatures. The best I managed to do was build 4 lightning rods from the start, rush to lv3 and build 0 electricity creatures by building a workshop and attempting to use that coal resource near your base. The issue being that because you get attacked from 3 different places its really bloody hard to defend each spot. Maybe I'm bad but I just couldn't get a proper defense going... Chameleon would make it tons easier too tbh

the difficulty at which i've set the "Normal" difficulty to be, is way too high.
In the next update it should be around 50-70% less difficult than what it currently is.
I have something in mind that might fix the 'let me nibble on fire' bug. (no promisses on it working)

And just in case you're not doing this:
What you could do is place a creature chamber near your base so when they spawn they won't see the fires and automatically run towards it.
(& then do what i've put in the description.)

:D thanks for replying. I realised that stand ground stance is a much better way to make sure they don't go nuts.

I managed to hold off the water attacks with 4 muskox lobsters since regen is OP however due to not being able to set up that coal pile to the south I still get "Swamped" XD (I didn't realise I made that pun tbh)

Grizzlybear Owls still carrying because of that 0 Electricity cost but its not enough.
Im content to keep trying while waiting for the update :)
Maybe put a 2x Coal pile closer to the base and not somewhere where the enemy forces run straight through? Just a suggestion, If you need any help with making maps or bonus missions I'd be more than glad to help :D

Sure you can keep on trying but...if it's too hard just admit to it and leave it alone for a bit until the next update comes around or you'll make yourself go nuts over it.
(that's no good believe me! xD)
There's a fine line between something being challenging and too difficult xd

The map legends are in the preview pictures, there is coal near your base (underneath it)
Yes I know thats the problem area I'm talking about. Since the enemy comes through right next to it so regularly its not even worth the trouble maintaining that spot, you'll probably lose more coal than you'd gain.

Maybe try to take a look in the water near that mining spot, you just might find something you rather have destroyed. 🤔
Yeah I know, but I can't rush it with that thing sitting there. The difficulty is definitely too high but at least its a good way to polish my skills up. Haven't played IC in a while so its good practice :D
Mission 1 is just ridiculously slow... having only Lucy to gather coal... and you need all your coal for one strike to wipe them out....

It's difficult, yes, but just boring. Get all the coal, spam all the Coyoteskunks, drop Stink Cloud everywhere to slow them down, pick them off.... zzz....

Would be better if you started with all the coal mined, as it were.

Noted. And i even agree a bit.
Though giving you ALL the coal right away would make the mission extremly short.

So far I've played the first 6 missions, tough but mostly fair. However on Mission 3 it took me 4+ hours to win because towards the end the infinite resource AI was just spamming ram-wolverines, skunk-wolves, and mountain lion-polar bears. You can't use ranged creatures or sneak termites through because of the skunk-wolves, so you're just stuck building a bunch of melee creatures and very slowly pushing forward. For the record, I was using wolverine/grizzly bears, and microing frenzy and Rex's gun. Unless I'm missing something, the mission just seems to require a very boring strategy. It'd be nice if there were a second pathway into the enemy base, or the AI didn't constantly pump from 3 chambers. The ram-wolverines you have to fight are also very tough, and the skunk-wolves prevent any creative strategy due to their abilities.

I've replayed mission 3 again, it might be a tod too hard for an early mission.
The skunk tail will be removed in the next update. :steamhappy:
